I feel like there's something going on between NL & the board. I've been thinking this for a couple of weeks now. I thought it was weird that Lennon never gave a post match at the end or start of the hearts game even though he was present. And today, I was on Celtic TV and was watching the christmas message from the players and manager and lennon just did not seem himself. He's usually very cheerfull at this time of year if you look back at previous Christmas messages. He seemed very down and unenthusiastic.

Now I might be reading into this too much but I feel like its very possoble with the things that are going on right now and if he loses ledley and sammo because the board are offering the players contracts of less value. I feel like these are 2 of lennons "favorites" and he woould be raging if they walked out on a bosman.

It might be more than that mind you. With the current situation we're in with the miss-treatment of fans by strathclyde police and the unorthadox manner the board are handling it.

Doesn anyone think there's something going on at the moment?

He didn't do a post-match interview because of the dental operation he had as far as I'm aware.

I've thought for a while that NL will walk next summer.

I think Lennon is getting frustrated that the board are not willing to use CL money to strengthen the team.
If someone comes in for Lennon at end of season, and the board have made it plain that money is not going to be used to bring in good players then Lennon will consider leaving at the first decent offer from a willing club. Not saying he WILL leave but will consider it.
Hope it doesn't happen but it's up to the board.

ah, that will explain why he closed his twitter account:rolleyes:

seriously though, Lenny has made it known that he suffers from depression of some type and maybe he just aint feeling great. Our recent results against milan, barca, hibs, hearts at home have not been anything to get excited about and his signings are not lighting up the league

i think him, PL and DD all get on well ....... lets hope 2014 will be the year our team clicks into high gear and our club, board, fans show a united front:celt_2:

Too much reading into too little. Of course if N Lennon gets a very
good offer he will look into it, he would be a complete fool not too.
However judging how well the EPL are treating their managers at
the moment , I think he would be slow to jump ship. I think that
some fans forget that the board wants on field success just as much
as Lennon and the fans do.

Lennon is angry that he hasn´t the balls to say something strong against our board.

i would imagine they have a good working relationship. Neil is a smart manager and guy. if they are offering samaras less money its to get rid of him off the wage bill which is smart. I will be sad to see Ledley go, but if that means more game time for Rogic and or Mcgeouch or irvine, then I am happy he is making way for young players from the youth set up. to be honest neil needs to start building our next team from the youth set and these players need to be given a chance.

Aye its easy to say that about the spl mate but we need CL quality player and sammo on his day is our best and ledley is consistent. I understand they are arguably the 2 highest paid players in the team (broonie aside)

We all want the young team in the squad and this season is perfect to do so but we also need some quality experienced players and we'll be losing a couple ... not to mention the fact of Forster wanting to go to the EPL. Hope we don't lose him this window.

Ps .. get irvine back asap!

I think they definitely bumped heads about funding for replacing the players who were sold. Especially Hooper, Wanyama, And K Wilson.

I think since they both did that question n answer tour together they enjoy a pally pally relationship. Its a make do with what we have scenario. Now the debt is clear the only way we buy is if you sell for more than the new guy comin in. In the mean time bring up the young guys slowly and hope it all works out. Just lock the front and side doors when Bangura turns up for duty

I think the limitations of the club would have been made very clear to Lennon and Lennon isn't really in a position to make demands. It isn't a case of Lennon being a "yes man". But he is given a budget and given objectives each year as it is his job to meet these. As the objectives of Celtic at the moment is to win the league and qualify for the champions league, I don't think there will be too much friction between the two. Based on these objectives alone, Lennon actually has a pretty cushy job at Celtic and I think he knows this.

That said, I have no doubt Lennon recognises that there is a ceiling at Celtic that he has already hit. I don't think he realistically would expect us to ever better what we did last season within the current budget constraints, and eventually he will want to move on to a club with more scope to progress. I expect he will have a keen eye on opportunities elsewhere at the moment and he will move when one becomes available for him. I sense both Lawwell and Lennon know this and I think both are probably quite content to get on with things until then.

We're making a fortune and will be onto a much greater windfall next season with a 3rd consecutive CL campaign.

Financially we're in an excellent position and will continue to grow off the field.

As for growing ON the field, we'll see how much influence Lennon has over the board this coming January.

If, at the end of the month we've found ourselves with 2 or 3 top players signed up, then all of this (steadily disappearing) commotion will be completely gone.

Ultimately, if we grab the double this year and have some good players in our squad, enough to make us look forward to season 3 in the CL, then that's all that matters.

That's what it's about, isn't it? Winning trophies and looking forward to competing in Europe.

I honestly think Lennon tries to keep on their good side but is't a fan of them.
