    Boss,

if you deal in contract and employment law then you should know that a law cannot violate a RIGHT.

The Uk signed up for the UN declaration for Human Rights and they cannot make laws to violate them. A right cannot be regulated -- that is what makes it a right. But you obviously have a different definition from the rest of the planet.... which you have chosen to keep to yourself. If you would care to explain why you think i am mistaken then i am happy to review your info but so far you have offered NOTHING.

If you don't know UK business law...Perhaps its time to consider Celtic isn't the business for you.

Freedom of speech is subject to limitations e.g. libel, slander, obscenity, sedition (including, for example inciting ethnic hatred), copyright violation, revelation of information that is classified or otherwise. Bringing * salutes into the debate is * stupid.

It's just an example. Freedom of speech is basically... subjective.

I will take your silence as assent to my suggestion that you were not a Celtic fan. After all, if Celtic is just a business like any other it is owed no allegiance - support Celtic one week, switch to Rangers the next. Why not? It's just a business like any other.

I feel sorry for your clients. The crudity and myopia of your arguments, not to mention your resort to abuse, indicates to me that you have neither the wit nor the intellectual imagination to be of much use to anyone.

My position is that Celtic is more than a business. It is a social and cultural enterprise with deep roots in the city and elsewhere. That means that people feel an attachment to the club which will always go beyond that felt by a mere customer. Whilst the club has a legal right to eject people from the stadium, the fans (the real fans) will never look at the situation from a judge's perspective (why on earth should they?) but from the perspective of their status as supporters (the 'Celtic family'). As supporters, they will perceive themselves to have rights and duties which do not come from contract law but from custom - from their and their families' engagements with the club over lifetimes. That means celebrating the club's history and culture in the ways they have always done. You want them merely to be customers / consumers - I expect the board want the same thing. You'll probably get it - hopefully not this year, but soon enough. And the real fans will go elsewhere. Leave it to the judges and the people who adopt the perspective of judges. Then, you will be welcome to it.

Debating with someone who feels the need to resort to petty insults because they cannot get their point across is beneath me. This is the last of your posts I will respond to. Even though I generally like to debate with those who do not agree with me I find you tiresome and boring :bbpd::bbpd::bbpd:

    Go away.

    You have no clue.

This is a private property rights issue, covered by UK law.

There is also no such thing as free speech in the UK.

It was never there to begin with, but hate speech added to it being eroded.

People in the UK now have the right to NOT be offended in the public domain.

    You're wasting your time dude.

These numpties think they can say and do what THEY like, anywhere that suits them.

    Even on private property.

    It certainly has.

Can we not just get back to admiring the great work Peter Lawwell is doing?
