He wasn't as bad as people made out. He was slow and clumsy at times, but he helped our defence out and our younger players. We were a better team with him in it that season.

He had Jelavic in his back pocket as well though.

He was mostly *. He was in top form only to be stopped in his tracks by that horrendous face injury. Then he injured himself on international duty and never played for us again. He was a centre half in his mid thirties we signed for nothing, he did exactly what it said on the tin.

He was shocking. It is undeniable. The only positives are we never paid a fee and he got injured so we didn't have to endure him for longer. He pales in comparison to Van Dijk, Wilson or even Ambrose.

    Loovens was better fs :smiley-laughing002:

Your not wrong. Defense is arguably our strongest position nowadays. Long gone are the days of Heed and McManus.

Absolutely awful, apart from against the Huns, was always good against them.

I think most people forget his enthusiasm. He would always be first to congratulate someone after they scored, he seemed to love the club and players

He was a good player who was past his best, so kinda like the centre half version of Barry Robson or Jan Vennegoor.

Lock this thread. It's always the memebers that are constantly on this that participate in them surprisingly.

I was reading about him yesterday and thought I'd see what people thought about his time at the club.

If you don't like the thread, don't post on it comrade :50:

Absolutely awful. Slow, terrible ball control and pretty poor in the air.

It was both McManus and Caldwell that day that were totally bullied. Don't recall ever seeing our two centre halfs ever being completely rag dolled like that.

Aye, that was a day when it was watching through the fingers material. Cousin got sent off, and I can guarantee Walter Smith gave him a pat on the back and said that he was superb. He won them that game. I think it was the first where he cut in from the right side, that was the stand out part for me.

Cousin was some player when he was in the mood. Very much like Samaras.

McManus and Caldwell were average in hindsight. We are so much better in that position nowadays.

I was absolutely * screaming for Bobo Balde to start that day. Could you imagine Cousin trying to do that to Bobo?

I was the same mate. Cousin was kept for 4 games a season. The chuckle brothers just couldn't handle him. The thing is, Strachan must have known that they would struggle to cope, but his stubbornness would have stood in the way of him playing Balde. One of the major downsides to Strachan in my opinion.

4 games a season is spot on cause he was one dirty * under orders..

What was that game he completely took one of ours out and it showed McCoist straight after winking to him or something as he'd got away with it?

    *..
