Milan should really have won. Genoa played for 60 minutes with ten men and having a three in the center of defense worked. Their is maybe something in that, with playing a compact game and not pressing too far up the pitch

    So, on the counter attack.

    Sammy Balde

    Boerigter Ledley Commons

    Mulgrew

    Izzy Ambrose Van Dijk Lustig

    Forster

Defending from the half way line.

    Boerigter Sammy Ledley Balde Commons

Izzy Mulgrew Ambrose Van Dijk Lustig

    Forster

I'd be tempted to just throw out all the players they'll hate playing against, defend with two blocks of five, sit a bit deeper and when we get the chance hit the ball long up to Sammy and Balde, into feet if possible.

Ideally you want to mug De Jong and get him on a yellow card early. Everyone needs to defend and attack. Otherwise you could score a goal and let in two. So it really is a question of how we can get a clean sheet against Milan and nick a goal. 1-0 is all we need.

since when has it been the Celtic way to do things easily ... ?
3 points from this would probably mean fitba after xmas with a game to spare and much reduced stress levels amongst our support.

Heart attacks and heartaches, drama and disasters, why change the habits of the last 40 years.

Really hope we can get some after xmas european football... this team need to get more playing time together and EL would satisfy that need. I think second place is beyond us so realistically EL should be our aim. Would love to be wrong and finish this group in style but an unlucky result in Milan and a dire performance in Amsterdam have shown our away performances are still a weakness.

I'm sure our fans will give the players the platform to perform on and hope Milan don't do a Juve on us

To all those attending the game, have a great night and hopefully the result will make it a special night :50:

This is a strange one. This could be the best and worst time to be playing AC Milan depending on how their players respond the pressure they are under. They might bounce back or capitulate even further. We need to be at our best and have a bit of luck if we are going to beat them. I think we can do it.

Really hope Stokes is available for this game, but would start Sammy upfront himself if he's out.

There's just nothing to suggest Balde or Pukki would be a better choice.

We have to win, it's that simple. Milan are awful this season and they may come out with a point to prove but even with a loss for them, they can still go through with a final home win against Ajax, should be lose at Barca.

Which puts us in a very good position. It's must-win for us and it isn't for them. So we could get the 3 points here and get us some Europa for the new year.

Imagine what Lenny will be saying the to team from now until kick-off. This IS the biggest match of our season so far. We the fans expect football after xmas and the team can deliver it for us.

    Come on Celtic!

Well lads, back again from the first leg! :41:

We're in dire straits at the minute. Couldn't buy a win :54:

Another terrible performance against Genoa at the weekend and another 4 new injuries picked up in the last week but I feel there's a big game in us.

We should have an almost full team bar De Sciglio at LB (Emanuelson is a real weak link) and El Shaarawy up front/on the left wing who has been sorely missed all year.

The Milan Ultras kept the players in the stadium for 2 hours after the game last night to ridicule them for the poor attitude and lack of passion. Things are pretty bad atm!

Not optimistic at all as I've seen plenty of Celtic at home in Europe and it's a tough place to go at the best of times. A draw would be a good result for us given how poor our form has been this year and the way the CL table is although there is absolutely no guarantee we'll beat Ajax at home.

I think it will be a draw as well, see the game fizzing out to a 0-0 draw. Just cannot see us having enough goal threat to breach the Milan defence.

It feels like every CL game is even bigger than the one before it, but I think it's safe to say that this one will determine this season's legacy. Would be absolutely gutting to get knocked out of Europe altogether, although I suppose that shows how far we've come under Lenny - we expect European football after Christmas now, as we should.

Of course we won't do it the easy way because we never do, but I'm still feeling fairly confident about this. I expect us to play as well as we did in Milan with some better crossing and better luck - having 60,000 Tims behind the lads might help as well.

Already getting the butterflies just thinking about it, let's get it right up them. Will Bangura be back in time to get the start? :celt_2:

If Sammy up front isn't working after 15/20 mins swap him with Stokes....It's the most attacking team we can realistically put out and the front four can all score goals so I'd be hoping we could nick an early goal

Think we'll really miss Brown again. Don't have anyone who grabs the game by the scruff of the neck in there. Mulgrew is more of an anchor man, Kayal does a lot of running, Ledley tidies up in there.

I'd like to try and get Boerrigter and Samaras both starting. I'd rather see Derk on the left though.

I'm glad that we have the chance to keep the CL dream alive, and I'm even happier that Neil and the team believe we can do it. This team will give it their all and we will be there to give them the best support that any team could have. Hopefully we can make it another great night in our illustrious history COYBIG :celt_2:

This is it, we DO believe. We CAN beat anyone. History has shown this. Tuesday night's fixture brings nothing new to the table that we haven't faced before.

We outplayed Milan in September and this Tuesday shouldn't be any different.

They are under intense pressure from their fans and need something, there's no way that coming to Parkhead with your fans on your back is going to provide any real productivity.

They will crumble under the atmosphere. I know they're professionals but it will be too daunting for them.

I'm really looking forward to this one. It's all or nothing for us. I think we'll do it.

People are harsh leaving Kayal out the line up. At home vs Ajax he was immense and one of our better players away there.
