European coppers are well known for this method of "crowd control" they did it in Germany world cup due to the casuals always trying to fight the English. I don't agree with it but its to try n stop full blown riots from starting.

I don't call kids getting hit with missiles/objects minor! Breaking the seats.... Isno major problem, butg hurling them at our fans/ stewards isn't minor ...neither is flinging coins and whatever else was lobbed.

Fair enough its tame compared to some but shouldn't be tolerated and does deserve action.

Any fans travelling to the Dam should be careful. It will be twice as bad. Their F Side hooligans have tried to rile our support in the past visits with Hun flags and throwing missiles. These are the Jewish fascists believe it or not!

Yes they're scum but I hate to say it but this is nothing compared to what hooliganism was like in the 70s/80s/90s.

I think a lot are overreacting because this is the worse they've ever seen, because they're young ones. You weren't alive back then.

Its just a few ripped up seats. I hate to think of anyone doing that to our stadium, as much as I love Parkhead, but it could have been much, much worse.

Can members please refrain from bringing Jewish Fascists or Zionists into the thread. All that does is bring political comments into the debate and this thread isn't the place for that.

Yeah it's nothing like it used to be many years ago and could have been a lot worse.....a * of a lot worse but it doesn't mean it should be acceptable and that they should get off with a bit of bad press.

Maybe it will stop happening if clubs with a hooligan element that cause trouble with stadiums, get hammered for it.

This is what happens, Celtic should move the family section from that area and also put a proper divide in place.

So if it had been our fans who done the same thing last night in Amsterdam would you be just as quick to dismiss such behaviour as, "nothing major" and Celtic shouldn't be investigated or fined either?

FFS it wasn't just a few accidental damaged seats but a blatant attempt to attack by all accounts a mainly young families section. How anyone, let alone a fellow Celtic fan can try and justify that is simply beyond belief.

If it hadn't have been for the stewards in the main who stood up to the attack who knows what kind of mayhem and riot would have occurred. I find it disturbing that no arrests were made but with camera's having captured everything one can only hope the Dutch police can use it to identify and punish the culprits.

I saw a couple of Celtic fans that were waving a Palestine flag at the Ajax fans during the half time mayhem and it almost caused them to surge through to the Celtic section!

... But, I quickly add, those Celtic fans were not to blame for the thuggery of the Ajax fans! Really horrible!

Look the problem could be solved by UEFA and the governing bodies of each European Country.

Safe standing areas domestically and at European level for both sets of fans. Move family sections to areas as far away from these sections as possible then the problem is solved. Punishing Ajax FC or their fans will change nothing.

Until people change the way they think nothing will change, whats the point in UEFA charging a club knowing fine well their fans will do the same thing again, you need to look long term, safe standing sections with perspex so that missiles can not be used and for seats not to be ripped up.

Keep upping the charge for the club until you take points off them and ban their fans. This will stop the scum, not going back to the 80s with 30 foot fences.

When the club starts really suffering because of some scum fans the real fans will start self policing and educating the eejits who are ruining their club.
