Well he has said he is the most natural finisher at cp, obviously we're not privy to everything that goes on at Celtic so there must be other reasons as to why he doesn't start, unfortunately we might never find out why.

I have a feeling that one of Deeks problems is that he is not exactly a gym fanatic. Ideally, he needs to build himself up a bit to play striker. He also is a bit of a hybrid between a striker and a wide player due to hibs 4-3-3 formation and just does not fit easily into our normal 4-4-2. IMO, in a 4-4-2,he is never a winger and needs to play up front.

I think this season we could see scenes reminisent of the Scottish Cup semi final, when wgs was booed for taking deek off and was shouted at by fans to bring grave on. I think fans will now demand Riordan plays.

If deeks dosnt get game this season now he will leave as he will not want to sit on the bench when he proves what he can do and is are best finisher.

Celtic striker Derek Riordan will use the month of August to contemplate his future at Parkhead.
The former Hibernian player has struggled to pin down a regular first-team place under manager Gordon Strachan since signing for the Scottish champions last summer.
The 24-year-old's inability to find a regular place has caused some consternation among the Hoops supporters - and the signs are not good again for Riordan, with the summer transfer window beginning to narrow.
He travelled with Celtic on their pre-season tour of America but played only 20 minutes, scoring the equaliser when he came on against MLS Chicago.
Riordan played for Celtic reserves in a 1-0 win at Airdrie and is hoping to feature against Newcastle at St James Park on Thursday.
The Celtic striker said: "My goal this season is obviously to play. That's the main thing, getting to play every week - and finish top goal scorer the same way I do every season.
"I haven't spoken to the boss; I will wait and see how it goes towards the end of the transfer window.
"I don't want to have the same season as I did last season obviously, so I will see what happens.
"Pre-season has been quite tough, but the reserve game against Airdrie was another 90 minutes which basically gets my fitness up. But now there is the Newcastle game, then Parma and then three or four league games in August - so I need to see what happens within that month.
"The Celtic fans were brilliant with me last season. They noticed that I never got a chance - so I hope to get a decent chance and take it when I do."
Riordan laughed when asked how he felt about Celtic's reported bid for yet another striker, Kilmarnock's Steven Naismith.
"It's good for the club, but it is more competition," he said.
"I think the squad is up to about 27 players now, so it's a big squad - and obviously there will be some players who are not going to be happy.
"I hope to get a shot at Newcastle - that's the main thing."
