How do you work that out has he fathered half the music industry,if the Beatles hadn't happened then music would still be around, and so would plenty of artists today

People like you have no right to call yourselves music fans, and are beyond reasoning with. I don't actually believe you've listened to much of the beatles. There's a reason they're so revered you know, it's not all * hearsay.

The Beatles' influence on modern music is indisputable. Regardless of what you think of the Beatles if they hadn't existed modern music would be very different.

I was actually fishing but I think that's a tad too far, the Beatles didn't Invent music.

Maybe they influenced a lot in certain genres, such as folk and country, I'd say that's about it

They didn't invent music. But they are a seminal influence on most guitar-based bands around today.

And I don't know where you got the folk and country thing from.

The impact The Beatles had was enormous.

Good wee documentary showing how groundbreaking they really were.

    Calm down, Calm down

I appreciate the influence the Beatles have had on music, but I hate their music. Plus I do think their influence is huge but overstated. It was black musicians in the US that fathered modern music, Elvis thieved it off them and it took it to the wider world

He comes across as a bit of a Noblet in my opinion..not my cuppa tea but a talented man none the less. I like some of the Beatles back catalogue, i don't mind listening to him sing just don't enjoy watching him getting interviewed.

Well said :50: I'm not saying they are a bad band I just never got the hype,I do understand people get caught up because they love them but to say people aren't music fans because they don't get it is OTT

He is at best an icon, at worst played out and cringeworthy.

Live and Let Die is one of the worst songs I've ever heard in ma puff.

I agree with Scootz - had Lennon not have been shot, he'd most probably been an old annoying * as well.

George Harrison was my favourite Beatle.
