I demand a public apology from all Irish TalkCeltic members for what your nation has done.

To be honest, everyone in Ireland saying sorry probably wouldn't be enough to rectify this act. Ireland are going to need to offer up human sacrifices. 1 for each day Cadete has followed Celtic should be enough.

That Depeche Mode when we score!!
My big cousin took me to see a Celtic v Arsenal friendly in August 1984,i was 14,actually it was Charlie Nicklaus's first match back after leaving.
Anyway as soon as i was in the ground,i was a Celt forever! We won the game 3-2,but were 3-0 up,cousin was * off at the Gunner's mini comeback!

I'd vaguely followed the team from about 1995 (I was ten-years-old at the time and mostly I just remember these green-and-white guys being shouted at by my dad and big brother), but then I got one of the Celtic history books as a Christmas present, and learning the lore and history of this team changed it from a passing interest to a deep-rooted respect and love for the traditions, charity and mythology of a great club.

As a glint in my Da's eye used to sneak in over the turnstiles in the late 60s went to my first full game as an embryo in the early 70s.:icon_mrgreen:

After much deliberation Celtic came out tops over Linfield, Rangers or Chelsea.

I was born into it even though my dad is lazy and hardly took me to any games. My Grandad took my dad and my uncle to the European Cup final in 1967 and both legs of the semi final against Leeds United in 1970. My dad took me to Love Street twice. Still never been to an all seater stadium.

My dad encouraged me to support the hoops, and at 5 years old I decided myself after the centenary cup final that Celtic was the team for me. I did have a Dundee top too at around 6-7 and was given the choice to follow a team closer to home. No thanks. So grateful to my old man for getting me through to Paradise when he could in the early 90s, cemented everything for me. We were eventually offered season tickets next to each other in 2002 :50:

Went to a school in West Belfast, id say about 70% of my classmates were Celtic fans, seemed the logical choice

Cos I'm Irish and it felt like it was my duty coming from a Nationilist backround.

I was 12 and a lot of other people in my town did for the same reason but then my love of everything about thd club and the wider sense of what it is grew from there.

At the age of five my dad introduced me to the Celtic way from as far back as i can remember. From an early age he gave me the ultimatum, support Celtic or leave the house. Given the fact that I had just learned to walk and my lack of life experience I decided to choose Celtic.

Right choice in the end though.
