He's been on great form of late, silly foul to give away but it was never a red. He wasn't last man and hardly touched him.

Spot on. I love broony and he's become a top class player in the past year or 2, but he still gets involved in stupid little niggles and square-ups when he should giving 100% concentration to get ready to defend a set piece. yes these can be funny and good to see from your players, but at the top level you need to show far better control - even if some little * has just blatantly dived to get a freekick.

The step v karagandy could have cost us, and tonight he put himself in a stupid position again - especially against the likes of neymar. for scotland at wembley it was the same, he had a childish square-up just before their corner which he was at fault for losing that old * who scored.
He's been amazing in all of these games this season, but at this level you need full concentration for 90 mins if you want to win games.

I love Broony; he and Ledley are my favourite players. However, serious question: has he now cost us two CL games? Obv there were many other factors in play vs Milan and Barca (Izzy's foot being in the wrong place at the wrong time for the deflection in the San Siro, Forrest, Mulgrew, Stokesy all missing great chances over the two games), and I know Broony's two moments of madness were small blips on two otherwise good CL performances, but with the calibre of the opposition in these games, a small blip is all they need. The free-kick he gave away vs Milan was stupid and in a kind of position that is meat and drink for a forward of Balotelli's quality. The end result of that set-piece effectively ended our chance of a draw, just as the red card last night realistically put paid to our hopes of a win. In both cases, Brown had shown remarkable composure all match and seemed to just lose it a bit at just the wrong time. I feel for him, but in that kind of scenario - where the pressure is on another level to the kind he faces 99% of the time - he really needs to learn to keep the heid, just as he had to learn discipline at SPL level. As I say, I rate Broony highly in every area, even including discipline now, but when it comes to frustrating moments in big games, he still has work to do. I hope he'll learn from last night, and I think he probably will.

It wasn't a silly foul to give away, it was a good foul to give away, just didn't need to do anything else

It's 2 games. The double header against Ajax. So only our most important games in the Group :54:

Going by the rules, it's only 1 game. UEFA have the power to increase that, though.

22.01 As a rule, a player who is sent off the field of play is suspended for the next match in a UEFA club competition. The Control and Disciplinary Body is entitled to augment this punishment. For serious offences the punishment can be extended to all UEFA competition categories.

    Pundits?

If UEFA take no further action, he will miss the next game only.

Hopefully it's only one, but I reckon it will end up being 2. It will go down as violent conduct, and I would be surprised if he got away with 1.

The facts are that he is banned for 1 match, which we can't appeal.

If the ban is extended, which, only in my opinion, wont happen, we can appeal.

So his big toenail scraped the elbow hair of a little *. Why don't we fine him 8 weeks wages, make him walk down the Gallowgate naked, and sell him in January?

You take away the aggression - and possibility of the odd red card - from Broony's game and you're left with * all. Despite all the huns and Brown-hating tims coming out the woodwork after last night, he has been in magnificent form for basically the last 18 months and I for one won't let 1 red card change or shape my view on him.

Tin hat on as I know most of you have a thing about Mulgrew (he's not close to being one of my favourites) but I'm a wee bit hissed off with him. Just heard him say at the end of his interview...."then we had the sending off and that killed the game for us"......like Broony doesn't feel bad enough! Now ok there's a lot of truth in the fact that you do better with 11 men on the park but had he taken his opportunity with that header we would have done excellent with 10! and furthermore as someone said we play as a team and lose as a team. I know a lot will say he was quite right but if I were Broon I would think that he didn't need to say that.

I'm guessing this is a fishing trip? If not then this is exactly the kind of post that I've said is embarrassing where Brown is concerned.

He accepts he was wrong. Every single pundit on TV and radio so far have said he was wrong. TV replays show that he kicked his back and his arm, no matter how gently. Even if he missed the intent was there. Dont try and defend the indefensible. He's now been involved in silly incidents in our three most important games of the season. Two of which he was clearly in the wrong for.

We should be more concerned that he will sort himself out in that respect the next time he plays in the CL. Other teams will start to target him if they think he has a short fuse.
