exactly, so they can capitalise on our faithfulness. i do not mind spending money on them, as long as we keep signing quality players though.

I totally agree that replica strips are too expensive and that the rate at which they come out at is very annoying. However, this being said I am one of the fans who still goes out and buys the strip directly from Celtic because I don't mind helping the club if I can afford it. It's a bit of a catch-22 scenario aswell as we have a great global sponsor in the form of Nike that creates worldwide exposure/profits for the Club but Nike are the worst for launching at least 2 new strips a year :31:

It's business you buy them if you want if you don't like to pay alot get a home kit only once a season so thats about 30 quid for a shirt to do you for over a year depending on how long you want to use it for.

My gran always gets me a celtic shirt for my b-day this year home and then I save up for the other strip or strips you just have to handle your money right.

Season tickets are really costly though but all you need to do is save over the year like some change you have left over from stuff can actually pay alot of the ticket or even the full ticket.

Celtic are offering you the product you don't need to buy every one but I know it becomes a problem when you have kids becuase they want it well give them pocket money and make them save up, a paper run, housework anything, and you were talking about the full kit a pair of shorts and socks should do for two season's as they really all look the same and they aren't going to wear them all the time.

If you are that uptight about paying 40 quid for a shirt to do the whole year just wait and get it from sports world but not jjb for two reason's they don't bring their prices down and buying it goes to the huns.

This is how it feels to be Celtic
Then there's the name of your favourite player on the back of the shirt. Charged by the letter. I bet Jan Veneegoor of Hesselink costs as much as the jersey.

I dont get that really. All American team jerseys have names on the back for all sports.

And they are cheaper than football jerseys (not hockey jerseys as they are giant sweaters)

IMO anyone who buys the home AND away shirt each year has no right to complain because thats going OTT

Since Nike have been making our kit Ive bought:
    3 home shirts
    2 away shirts
    1 'international shirt'
    1 home shorts
    1 away shorts
    1 'international' shorts
    1 bag
    2 training tops
    2 Nike T shirts
    1 tracksuit top
    2 caps
How much is that Ive spent(just on myself)in just over 2 years on replica kit alone not including programmes/Celtic View/Celtic TV/tickets etc?
The club is making loads of profit off of this Nike deal but I really do feel like a sucker because I keep buying even though I know Im being taken advantage of.
We all do it because we love the club, want to put money into it to see it grow and progress and are very loyal.
Ill probably get the new away shirt aswell just because I know that the cash I invest in my shirt helps my club out.I just hope they dont keep bringing so many out although I think that in the contract with Nike,Celtic agreed to 2 new shirts every 2 years or something?

We are onto only our 2nd home strip since Nike came in, the current is garuanteed not to change until 2009. 40 over the course of 2 years, what are you lot complaining about. Not many clubs garuantee their home strips for 2 years.

Away strips and 3rd strips at every club change every season. Why are people thinking that we are the only club in the world that this is happening to, EVERY FOOTBALL SUPPORTER IN GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING!

Also the 3rd strip is only used in European games where the home and away strips of both teams clash, its a rare thing but all clubs must be prepared for the rare possibility of it happening.

If you go out and buy all sorts of stuff then notice that your broke then maybe you should look at your spending habits. Celtic & Nike are going to bring out all sorts of designs to cover most people's tastes. Doesn't mean that you have to buy them all! Don't be blaming Celtic when you spend your money foolishly, it isnt their fault.

As for people with kids, thats a different thing but I'm sure you could get them to weed the garden, mow the lawn for a month or something to make it up to you. YOUR SPOILING THEM IF YOUR NOT!!:celt_2:

I understand the frustration with the constantly changing kits and the high prices. But well if you don't feel it is acceptable then don't buy the new kits. The reality is football has become more and more commercial and for a club like Celtic which has the level of expectations and ambitions that we do we have to find every way to max our revenus. Especially considering we are at such a diadvantage to other big clubs in the big 5 leagues from a tv money stand point.

So while I understand your frustrations with the high prices and amount of kit changes it does bring in big money and get our name out around the world.

    my gripe is this.

i have no problem paying for a shirt that should last a year.
but they should issue all the shirts on the same day so that i can decide what one i think i prefer then i can buy that one.
nothing worse than spending money on a shirt yer not keen on. for example i'm not keen on this years home top because of the lisbon thing on it. i know i'm in the minority here but we treat lisbon the way the english treat 1966. anyway i prefer the away kit recently released but i havent got the money at the moment to buy it.
as for season tickets.... i have no chance..... since i got married and the kids came along i have to pay a mortgage, feed and clothe the kids.... a season ticket is way down the list of priorities when yer on a low wage.

poor me.... hahaha..... alldonations can be made to www.i'masadbastard.com

    hahahahaha

The contract celtic have with nike makes sure we keep bringin out new strips and since celtic are a buisness they like to rip us off! Could they not make a deal tht season ticket holders get a special offer?

Where in the contract does it say " you must buy a new kit every year "

Its the kids that are fleecing you :)

Get the kids a job up the chimneys - and they can buy there own kit

of course you are right..... the club are only presenting an offer to buy their wares.
ye dont have to buy the gear.

but in the real world that isnt an argument.
    we all want the gear
we'd just like a more realistic price tag that suits more people.
i repeat what i said in earlier post.... lower price.... sell more..... still make the same money.
