To encourage people to buy up season tickets. There's a logic there but it's unfair & probably won't increase season ticket sales much, if at all.

I read fans on facebook bad mouthing other fans, the club and one went as far as calling thr club money grabbing *.

I may have missed the debate on here but I can assure you the confusion, arguing and name calling is happening all over the place

If they arent missing out then thats fine. If some tickets are opened for general sale ( guys onhere havr tickets, I know a few myself outsode of this forum, facebook etc) then I dont see the problem?

Maybe I am missing the point?

Oh, the friends and family thing is causing a uproar....I see now.

the board are making it look like it pays off to be a ST holder (which it does), and are pushing the point across this year with Juventus tickets and now this. Smart business if a little unfair on our non-gloryhunting, non-ST fans.

I agree but is it smart business in the long run? The club are excluding a large section of our fan base. Where it was a lottery before, people now feel the club don't want them there.

I think its fair enough, Season Ticket holders should get to get tickets for family and friends as they've paid and are going to games all the time.

Just thinking there, everyone must know a season ticket holder anyway. In my family alone, I have one, my da has one, my uncle has one, his son has one, my cousin and his wife and son have one, my cousins husband and 3 sons have one, my cousin her husband and their son have one, my cousins mother in law and father in law have one, my other cousin has one. So just family members theres 17 season tickets. In addition to them 3 of my cousins cousins sit near my uncle who are like my family, so 20 really. Then other pals I could get one off I know about, I dont know but maybe 15 more people. Then people ive worked with before theres 5/6. So theres about 40ish people I could have got tickets off if I was desperate, probably more as my da's, uncle's, granny's etc pals will have them or whatever.

Wow, £179. Will those be available closer to the event? I might have to use that as a last resort.

I think the issue's more with people who live outside Scotland. If you're from New York, Vancouver, etc. - even London, you're probably not going to know a season ticket holder.

To be fair season ticket holders have shelled out big money to be season ticket holders and deserve the perks they get. I'm not saying anybody else is less of a fan or anything like that, but the initial outlay itself deserves rewarding.

I do think 4 packages extra is a bit extreme, but even if it was only one or two they'd probably still sell out anyway.

Some people may feel bitter towards the club but I think it'll compel a lot of people to buy a season ticket so they don't miss out on the big European games. That's certainly what the boards counting on.

Probably but if you live in those places then you probably dont get to many games anyway so wouldnt be that high up the list to get tickets.

Celtic could maybe make 5 tickets available to all CSC's outside Scotland or something like that.

    I think it's fair enough.

Celtic have to encourage supporters to buy and renew season tickets- after all, they are regarded as the 'life-blood' of the club. Over the last number of years Celtic have had to do this by lowering prices and offering incentives and rewards to season ticket holders, including providing season ticket holders the opportunity to purchase additional tickets. It's not going to be a policy which pleases everyone, and there will certainly be those left disappointed, but all things considered, it's fair enough in my opinion.

For people who were unable to get tickets for the Champions League games, I'm quite sure they'll get an opportunity to buy tickets for league and domestic cup games, if they really want to go and support Celtic at Parkhead this season.

i'd love to be at the cl group games went to 2 of the qualifiers but it's well understandable that the club are prioritising the champions league tickets and giving them all to the season ticket holders (i think giving them 4 extra would be way to much if everything was all hunky dory in scottish football but the reality is that it's not so the club are maximising their revenue using the champions elague tickets as bait

if we were in charge we'd probably do the same thing

ohh and saying this doesnt make me happy but it's just one of them things

if they had given 1 extra ticket to season ticket holders the club might have sold a lot less season tickets because the league isn't very strong and people would know they would have really good chance of champions league tickets without the season ticket

so if the club has sold out then from the club point of they've done a decent job

maybe they could have reduced the extra tickets to 3 tickets and maybe sold even more season tickets.

i wonder how many season tickets the club has sold ???

I'll keep an eye on sales and PM you if Ajax send any back and they go on general sale. The Thomas Cook Packages are a bit of a rip off but I guess you're getting a room with them.

Don't suppose your username is a play on the Sedin's names? Vancouverite? I'm pretty sure there was a guy on a Canucks forum I know with the exact same username (although it's probably a fairly common one).

I agree 100% that season ticket holders should be prioritized in terms of tickets - for their seats.

But, when it comes to giving EXTRA tickets it becomes a bit unfair - even if it is handy to be given the option.

I got into this debate after the ticket policy for the Juve game after buying the 3 game package for the group stages. I understand ST holders are vital, but this policy effectively allows them to decide who gets to support our club! From their girlfriend who has never been to a game to their mates son who loves Lionel Messi!

Then you get this "snobbery" about how ST holders are the dogs balls and we should all bow to their willingness to watch league and cup games. Total disregard for other peoples circumstances and ignorance to, for example my contribution as a supporter because, despite teavelling from Belfast for almost every home game during the 90's......your now a non season ticket "glory hunter"!!

You're kind of doing the same yourself there mate.

Who's to say that the season ticket holders won't be bringing youngsters who will grow up to be ardent supporters of the club, or people who cannot afford to go to the games - a opposed to people who may only be buying a ticket for the game just because they want to see a CL game for the first time, or who can't be bothered going to a league match?

Could be a good thing for supporters, or an unfair thing - I suppose it would be very subjective as to who is getting the ticket.

Just bought 4 online about 15 minutes ago. Had to buy 4 single tickets and had to deal with a failing site but I got them. This was after not getting through this morning and after Celtic stated they were sold out. Been an utter shambles but delighted all the same.

Just keeping trying to buy singles online and you might get lucky
