What do you think, should it be more common for a footballer to get sacked?
i think so, take tommy. hes refusing to leave but hes not doing what was asked of him when he came in the door now anyone else in anyother type of work would get sacked. also, surly, if a player is under contract and he is told he's wanted to go else were on a loan deal he should not have a choice in the matter? at the end of the day, in any other line of work if your told to go work in another place you dont get a choice.

Why sack an asset? Your as well trying to get money for him even if it is a small amount, even enough to cover the wages in the last 12 month. I dont think its written into a contract that he has to perform to a certain level, but when big mick gets the captaincy I think he and strach should grab the big baldy * by the throat and get him told or he's gonna get his baws booted, Glesga style.

Football has officially gone even more crazy this season. Fifa/Uefa had the chance in the 90's to introduce transfer and wage caps but chose not to probably because they are all greedy gits too!

In American Football you can cut a player and only take a small hit on your money and the player is released without any money being guaranteed to him.

Id say give players short term contracts but with the option of extending them to a lkater date so sign for 1 year and if they perform give them another year and have that the club decides if they give the year and the palyer dosnt have a choice and have it for a certain amount of years.
This way you can sack them and they woulndt get much money

Yeah they should have like a maximum wage per week. We don't want them all ending like Becks...
