    Was just reading on cfc.net,that naka will miss the first 5 weeks of the season to compete in the asia cup,scott mc donald also near missed out but australia coach decided not to include him,dont know if this is old news!!hopefully doest clash with champs league qualifier!!any views???

    It doesn't say he'll miss the first five weeks of the season, but that you have to go away for 4/5 weeks when your country is competing in the Asian Cup.

    The final is at the end of July, so even if Japan make it all the way there, Naka will still be available for the CL qualifier.

    That is a worry. He's not had a proper break this summer so he has to be used sparingly in the first few weeks of the season.

    No point in having a strong squad if you're not willing to use it.

    Yes I think the real is concern is either he picks up an injury or he is too tired when he comes back. I think this really is a case when our squad needs to be used. I think Derek Riordan is better up front but certainly he can come in a do a good job on the the left flank in midfield and move McGeady over to the right and give Nakamura a couple of weeks off when he gets done with the Asian Cup.

    I just hope while he plays for japan he will gwet too tired or pick up an injury as we will need him as the group stages of the CL come in

    I hope he is the best player in the competition as any recognition he would get would reflect on our club. this in turn would attract better quality players etc etc
