Quite right as well, coming onto a game after a slow start and looking like the player he was last season.

Is there any doubt that this guy is or at least could be better than Wanyama? I think he's certainly more of a goal threat than Victor was.

Technical wise I think he is as good and probably better but physically it's no contest.

Technically he * all over Wanyama who does have moments in his locker but Bitton is improving all the time and I personally prefer him..

    Better get him tied up..

I'd still take Wanyama over Bitton any day of the week. And I'm a huge fan of Bitton.

2 more years on his deal would be great.
It would let us keep him for two more and then if we need sell when he still has two more to go and give us a good return.
Could be one more year and pay rise now.

Hope a deal can be done as I love the guy. Brilliant player! Also seems a bit more appreciative of what he has here. Another 3 / 4 years and a pay rise. He def deserves it. :50::shamrock:

Apparently an extra 4 years is being offered, so will now be a 6 year contract. Excellent if true and he signs :50:

Cracking if true. Get him signed up for as long as possible. However, I do think he will be the next player to leave and head down south.

If that turns out to be true that would be fantastic news. Established as one of our best players now for me.

Yes very big doubt. He's not a better player than Wanyama far from it just now.

Remember Vic is still young as well (only a year older) so he's also still improving and he'll be off to one of the top 6 clubs in the EPL at the end of the season.

Where is this talk of Bitton getting a new contract coming from?
I would've thought it would be the kind of thing the club would announce, relatively out of the blue, once he'd actually put pen to paper.

I watched Wanyama on Sunday. The team was up-and-down, but I thought he looked awesome throughout. It's tough to compare him to Bitton, because they've got such different styles and attributes. Bitton thrives as being that midfield metronome, keeping the ball moving, orchestrating the attack, and being the occasional goal threat (not to mention leaving defenders in the dust with that silky roulette). Wanyama doesn't get forward as much, but his defensive tackling, positioning, and awareness are top class. He's also rock-solid in distribution, but he doesn't look to slice defenses open very often. I can see why Wanyama, right now, is ready for a top club--many of which are lacking steel in the middle of the park. I think he could become a cult hero at a top 6 club, eventually. If you're going to compare the two at this exact moment, he probably gets the edge for me because his top attributes have been tested more often against better opposition, and he's met that challenge.

All this said, I would also say that Bitton's defensive ability is underrated, and that Wanyama's skill and touch are underrated. Both are cracking players. And they'd be an incredible pairing.
