The CL is the only show in town, there's no hiding place, we're in with the big boys mixing it with Europes elite, it's a challenge that i'm pretty sure Lenny and the players will embrace and not fear.

Ballotelli will be playing for AC Milan though. They have other top players such as Montolivo, El Shaarawy, Boateng and Robinho. Their fullbacks De Sciglio and Abate are quality as well. However their central defense by AC Milan standards is pretty poor. We could certainly get at them.

Would've liked to have got Borussia Dortmund or Chelsea in our group! I noticed we have two home games in a row early on in the group. Good thing?

I think a lot will depend on the result in Milan, if we get pumped by a big margin (4-0, 5-0 etc etc) then the fans and team won't hold out much hope for the barca game (maybe dampening the atmosphere a little?) but if we get something in Milan or put in a spirited performance our confidence would be sky high and the fans would be electric, imagine if we could beat barcelona and get something against milan, the Ajax game would be absolutely mental.

But i also i think we could see an anti climax in the barca game as it's gonna be really difficult to repeat last seasons result, if only we had Wilson to keep Messi in his back pocket again :54:

On paper, this looks like the hardest group we could've got, but in reality it isn't. Real Madrid, Juventus, and Gala would've been harder. Personally I'm delighted with this draw. The Champions League is all about playing the biggest and best clubs, and that's exactly what this draw provides. Wish we drew another team from pot 1 given we played Barca last season, but hey ho, the two clubs have great respect for each other, and it will be another great night at Parkhead.

Despite the fact we're favourites to finish bottom, some shrewd signings in the next few days will give us a fighting chance. Barca will top the group, and then it'll be fairly close between ourselves, Ajax and Milan.

    Bring it on!

I think we could sneak a win in Milan. They're not a team to be underestimated, but pretty average in comparison to the Milan team we beat when Scott Mcdonald scored the winner. Would you agree?

I think the others will take points off each other also.

We have passion in our side that's for sure. How many points needed to qualify from our group?

Yes....Milan a no way near as good as the team we played last time. Back then they had Kaka, Inzaghi, Pirlo, Nesta and Seedorf. Nowadays their star players are Balotelli, El Shaarawy and Montolivio.
We will give them a good game in Milan, possibly get a point. :50:

OK, deleted my first reaction to the news, here is a more measured, less negative reaction:

Can't see any hope of getting out of this group. Can't see any hope of getting third, either. Don't see us picking up many points in this group at all. Scared of Barcelona wanting revenge, too. Just hope we can defend well enough to avoid a 5-0 or 6-0 humiliation. Feeling very deflated after yesterday's high.
That's as positive as I can make it.

On the plus side, I think full houses are pretty much assured unless Barcelona really humiliate us.

Going to end with a quote just to end on a lighter note:

Nice one, mate. Made me laugh out loud.:50:

    * it, who knows? Maybe we'll bring in a couple of real quality signings now and I'll start to feel better about it.
