I doubt co-ownerships are allowed in the UK, I think it's just 20% of the future sale, with Celtic having full rights to who and how much they'd sell him for.

I also have question marks about his adjustment to the Scottish game - but I think it's a 2 edged sword.

While he could be shell-shocked and have a hard time, and maybe not fully adjust - but he is also very young and I think very teachable, so he could maybe mold into the league nicely, and add that element he misses, as far as being a presence and having a more mean-streak on the pitch that he will get from Lennon.

He seem to me like a clay in your hand that you can really mold him nicely. He has a very nice skills to begin with, and very nice physical tools you can't teach - he just needs to be shaken up, hit the gym more, become stronger, and most importantly change his mentality and realize how to use his strengths more to his advantage.

He's a nice quiet and shy kid, soft spoken and not really having much of a personality on the pitch, kind of hiding into the shadows.. he's pretty 'green' so to speak, but still young and a willing learner.

Right now he's not hot nor cold, he's just kind of inbetween - he has that potential to make the leap forward but he needs guidance and someone to motivate him to go after it.

Not that he'll turn into Kayal all of a sudden as far as attitude defensively, but atleast not to be so lethargic as he sometimes is - surely given his * given attributes.

Overall I think a very nice signing.

So another Ki by the sound of that report. Maybe worth a job here, and who knows what he could become. We've been known to sign players and adapt their game a bit.

    Cheers for that.

I think adapting to Scottish football and life in Scotland in general will be easier with Kayal being there. Also, by your description, he seems like a player that could spend time on the pitch with Kayal, so he might adjust quicker because of that as well.

20% isn't a small percentage, but fee of 700k for 21 year old player with potential is good business for Celtic.

Hopefully scouts continue to look for players based in Israel, it looks like a place with talented, but reasonably-priced players.

This lad sounds like a good signing to me. Cheap, talanted, potential, young enough to be developed. Makes sense.

Big or small, as drastic as anyone cares to make it out, we all have unredeeming flaws.

No one chooses where they are born, or what their political leaders have done.

Unlike some, the rest of us won't write off an entire group of people based off of their nationality (or not as some may see it).
We don't know the guy personally, nor know his feelings to any of the issues concerned with him.

Don't care where he had the misfortune to be born as long as he puts 100% into his Celtic career if he signs.

Hopefully not the answer to a Wanyama replacement though as we need more than just a project for the CL (assuming we make it).

    Exactly.

The fact he is gutted about signing a player just because of the country he was born in is pathetic and embarrassing. Some people really * me off with their political beliefs.

    It's football for * sake.

It's got nothing to do with me but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. Ridiculous.

Anyway, back on topic. Pretty happy with this signing - it's looking very likely now - although he doesn't seem to be the defensive midfielder I thought he would be. Still looks very good though.

Well the Ashdod owner is in Glasgow, apparently, to finalise the move.

I'd imagine it will all be sorted by tomorrow night at the latest:50:
