My brother played against a few of thm and i'm shocked they amde it onto the squad. My brothers old team could be doing well against these teams.

I saw that game it was a verygood game, Brazil had the edge play wise but the USA held tough, Freddy Adu got two assists for Altidores two goals, the second assist was a class act the way he got past the Brazil player and put the ball across the goal.

Since noone is, half time report:

Lee Wallace was our best player.
Scott Fox was solid as a rock.
Scot Cuthbert was a bit shakey as he is out at right back position.
Mike McGlinchey played ok, looked busy and showed some decent pace.
Rest of the team played well except Lynch of Hibs who looked a bit off the pace.

Hopefully we should score another.

McGlinchy showed some good touches.
Cuthbert looked out of place.
Conroy when he came on did nothing really.

Fox the goalie was no bad, and McGlinchey was clever, who do they play for?

 

Scotland under 20s football team are the new Arctic Monkeys.

 

Well looks like we can rule out Cuthbert & Conroy for 1st team this season.
McGlinchy & Fox looks to at least have potential.

 

After a couple of bad performances at international level you would rule them out of team for the whole season, good you are similar to Romanov

 

Did you see them playing against teams made up of teenagers?

If you had you would quickly come to the conclusion, that they are way beyond challenging the current 1st team players for a place.

Or do you think they are better than they have shown at this competition?

 

We got outplayed by Artmedia a bunch of part timers yet we stil have some of that 1st 11 playing today?

Yes they are better than they have shown, the hype and pressure obviously got to them and if cuthbert can re capture form from 2/3 years ago he will defo be a 1st team regular

 

I know what your trying to do - keep positive for the young guys & not slag them off. I'm not doing that.
But this was 3 full games they played Cuthbert really does not look (on this showing) that he can push the current CB's (of which we have many) or even RB's for a place in the 1st eleven.

We've still got Bobo, Magic & Aiden from the Artmedia defeat - Aiden is the only one to play regulary last season.
Marshall, Varga, Camara, Telfer, Thompson, Lennon, Petrov, Sutton, Aliadiere (ffs), have all been shot to *!

Sometimes guys just don't cut it at Celtic, these guys know that - McGlinchy is already saying that he may leave if he can't get a game.
Beattie has gone only last week for this reason.

Cuthbert may make it into the Celtic 1st team at some point, if he's good enough I hope he does, but I really can't see it being this season - O'Dea has got in before him last season & that meant playing 2 left footed CB's - I'm sure if Cuthbert was ready for the promotion, he wouldv'e gone in front of O'Dea to balance the team.
He didn't & he won't this season.

 

Cuthbert is not long out of injury and he shouldn't really be playing but what happened to the scotland euro final team against spain ?

That was U19's.
Most of the group are here, but Archie Gemill has not really played them in the way he should've IMO.
He eventually dropped the Hibs keeper at least.
I think they've missed the likes of Charlie Grant, who was one of their best players last year. In his absence Gemill has been playing CB's in the DM position, which really just hasn't worked.
Bit like playing Gary Caldwell in Lenny's position, big static lump of wood in the most important area of the field.
