Szalai is one of those strikers who are completely invisible 99% of the time but then you blink your eye once and they've scored a brace. In this sense very much like Huntelaar, so definitely a good replacement for him.

By the way, if Pukki joins, what do you think Celtic's lineup would look like with him up there? I don't know much about this Stokes guy, but for some reason I'd love to see Pukki and Samaras together up front. Does Celtic always play with two strikers? (4-4-2, 3-5-2, 4-4-1-1, etc.)

Our formation and personnel changes every game to be honest mate. Some times it's a straight 4-4-2 but then other times it's 4-4-1-1 or even 4-2-3-1.

If we sign Pukki I'd like to see us line up in attack like this:

    ------------Pukki----------
    Boerrigter-- Commons-- Sammy

However, if we sign another striker in the Finnbogason style then I would switch Pukki and Sammy and take Sammy out for the striker.

Just read elsewhere that Szalai broke a bone in his foot tonight...

If that's true then this is *.

Yeah, as Sean said....wouldn't say we have one formation in particular. Lenny tends to play a formation he thinks will be effective depending on the opposition. Sometimes he gets it right, sometimes he doesn't but id rather have a coach that tries that than someone who just plays one way every game and eventually gets found out.

    In terms of line up (and assuming a few more signings come in), is like to see us play 2 up front with the following personnel;

    fraser
    matthews/lustig, ciani, mulgrew/van dijk, izzy
    forest, brown, ledley, derk/sammy
    pukki, finnbo or soriano

Hope we get Teemu, another striker if possible as well. I hope we also get Biton and a defender and I will be very happy. I really hope we get Teemu. I think he will be a good addition.

Has he played for Schalke in the qualifiers? If so and both teams make it through to the group stages is he not cup tied?

If that's the case, it's a pointless signing IMO - and I can imagine why WE would wait until after tomorrow night!!!

If both teams qualify we should be looking at ANother who can play in the group stages now and get this lad on a pre-contract in Jan!

I read that he played with a broken wrist bone. Possibly out 8 weeks. Getting ridiculous

They changed it all, the qualifiers are a seperate registration to that of the group stage this year, meaning no cup tied issues!

If we end up not getting Pukki because of injuries to two other strikers I will be * livid.

We are having no luck at all.

Yes, they changed the rule this year. Pukki is definitely cup tied.

Bad signing anyway, I checked from wikipedia and he has only 8 goals in the last 7 years, plus he comes from Sweden and their league is very bad. I wonder what his goals to minutes ratio is, though?

Pretty sure I recall a link, from STV I think, stating that if both teams make it to the group stages of the same European competition then any player transferred between said clubs would be cup tied...unless that is an old link was posted!!!
