    Kyogo. A phenomenon
You could - indeed, you just did. But you support a Club that has:

    • The strongest team in Scotland by a country mile.
    • Won 2 in a row and is hopefully going to extend that in future years.
    • Overseen - in an extraordinarily hard economic climate - financial results that are frankly an accountant's wet dream bearing in mind the (lack of) money available in the Scottish game.
    • Ensured a scouting system is in place that facilitates generally superb players on a limited budget, with an excellent sell on value.
    • Participated in the Champions League (and excelled) at a time when the coefficient is as good as my golf game - aka hopeless.
    • Backed a manager at all times in the face of adversity, and continues to enjoy his support because of a recognition of the job he is doing.

To be honest with you, the list goes on. Is any of this possible without fan support? Of course not. However, he has my support, because the positives - for me - VASTLY outweigh the negatives.

Haters of Celtic (from other Clubs) hate Lawwell - with good reason; because he's good for the Club, for the most part, and they loathe him because of it. That's surely a signal he's doing a good job to an extent - and certainly a greater extent than you seem to indicate. * me, is there anyone on this board that didn't greet C.Green's return with glee? That doesn't talk about Whyte in lofty terms? There is good reason for this - because they are * hopeless (at best,) and we love them for it.

If anyone can show me one flute-tooter that wouldn't be delighted if Lawwell left Celtic, i'd be stunned.

Will he please everyone? Will he *. But Saddam? Hahaha, jesus christ that is about the most far-fetched level of bizarre nonsense you can realistically expect to read on here.

Negatives categorically outweigh the positives? Really?

    For me, no way.

It's an interesting debate, but I think your post was beyond the realms of reality in terms of how harsh a potential comparison was utilised.

at the end of the day those who run the club are accountable to the council, the ambulance and fire service etc so why are the green brigade forcing celtics hand? i think the GB are trying secularise themselves from the mainstream support, making normal supporters seem inferior. we all batting for the same here....

lawwell out is a joke. The club is in its best position for years on the field and off and alot is down to him. Do i agree with all he does no but he gets most things right and i think he and the board are right here as well.

Throw in a couple of spelling mistakes, stick this onto a big banner, and you would be a shoe in for Green Brigade membership :56:

We were here first. So maybe all of the new prawn sandwich brigade types could form a club and they could all sit on their arses all game and not create any atmosphere.

In a thread taken over by loonies, this is actually a really good point.

You wouldnt find a single one, and I bet every one of them would be desperate for someone like Lawwell to run the show at Ibrox at the moment.

Apart from this, what other negatives are there? Lawell has been fantastic for Celtic.

I find it ironic and incredibly sad that the only people who call Lawwell "liewell" are huns and GB supporters.

What sort of * up * is that?

Well said. I will say I am far from being in agreement with how the Celtic board have done some things over the years since Lawwell has been in charge. But overall he has done a superb job for the club and its thanks to the great running of the club off the field as well as the work on the field that we are as strong and as healthy on and off the field as we are today.

A Celtic fan who signs up to a forum just to gloat about bad news for the club.

    Wow.
