According to the evening times "sources" at Cardiff have denied they are making a bid for him.

I think out of everyone at the club he is one of only a few who could become a genuine legend at this club. Could see him finishing his career here.

Meanwhile, reports Cardiff are trying to lure back Joe Ledley have been dismissed by sources at the Welsh club.

Cheers, why do the twats act all cool re this contract. Surly once they get to 18 mth left they should put the contract offer to them if they don't sign punt them for a good price? We can't afford players leaving on the cheap. Egg on face!

I'm really hoping Ledley signs a new contract and I think he will.

I can't see Ledley leaving to be honest. He is a great player to have and showed he can put in performances at the highest level in the CL last season. There are a few players who are entering the last year of their contracts and I think that will be sorted out once transfer activity has calmed down. Should have been dealt with long before now though in my opinion.

Brown seems to be being utilised in a deep role since his return from injury before the Scottish Cup last season, and I think this hints that he will paired with Ledley as our first choice midfield for the new season with Kayal as back-up.

If we were to sell Joe Ledley I'd be more * off about that than I was about either Wanyama or Hooper leaving. I think Ledley's a terrific player, very under-rated.

Whether there's any truth in this story or not, I think it's really poor that Celtic have allowed this situation to develop. Ledley should have been tied up on a new long-term contract a while ago. Allowing his contract to run down to the point where there's only 12 months to go is taking an unnecessary risk. If Ledley was sitting with a contract that had 4 years to run I would almost guarantee Cardiff wouldn't be showing any interest or if they were they would have to be bidding significantly more than £3million to stand a chance of getting him.

Get this man a new contract Celtic!!

6 mill minimum for Super Joe. Hardly ever scores or assists but only a blind man can't see what he brings to the team. Got all the drive and determination of Brown but with more discipline and better passing. Fantastic player, keeps it all ticking over and allows our better technical players to thrive and go forward.

Vital we get him signed up to a new contract.

He scores quite a lot actually. Averaged 9 a season since he's been here.

Last central midfielder to do that was probably Stan

Didn't realise it was that many. All I can think of is that goal against the huns and those 2 20 yard belters at CP last season.
I still think he could score more, got it in him to be a bit of a box-to-box guy.

I still very much appreciate what he does though, as I said goals aren't his game that's not what we use him for.

Ledley has said he wants to extend his deal here and it will happen. Think maybe Celtic are trying to get this window out the way first. But imo he should have had a deal offered last season. Guy is utter class.

I read this * while enjoying my holiday in Spain and had to reply. This is boy has obviously not wasted any time in catching the EPL overrated sickness. We have been hearing this for all eternity now but the reality is quite different. Cardiff played in the Championship last year and Celtic played CL football which in anyone's language is miles apart. Cardiff will never play CL football and as a result have no players of that standard whereas Celtic haven a squad who have proven themselves at that level. Unfortunately for this helmet levels is what football is all about and to be frank * * Whittingham has more of a chance of playing CL football than your lad.

So go and think before you come on here rambling complete nonsense about Cardiff City who will be cannon fodder nothing more!!

This is the type of post that *, no actual content or any attempt at decent analysis, just 'Oh look we play in the Champions League'. Complete with insults thrown towards me, and to top it off, insulting the club I support.

Anyway, Joe's actually spoke out now and put these rumours to rest. It was always BS anyway, just very lazy journalism.
