You called him a benchwarmer when he played over 100 games and scored over 50 goals. :56: Stop backtracking. He 'only' scored 35 goals in 80 La Liga games when he was in his 30's and past his peak. He's also one of the highest ever Champions League scorers.

He was dynamite at France 98 and his goals took France to the 2006 Final. Did you even watch those tournaments? :smiley-laughing002: You really have some bizarre opinions, I can't take you seriously.

Do you honestly think we was good at Barca?

Yeah, I certainly watched the France 98 and Euros. I bet France to win the Euros. He and Tresequet frustrated the life out of me. France had a great side who lacked fire power up top.

Obviously he was good or he wouldn't have scored 45 goals and made 23 assists in his 1st 2 seasons. :smiley-laughing002: He was finished by the 3rd. Him, Messi & Eto'o were awesome together in 08/09. You'd have thought he'd played 20 games and scored 2 goals judging by your 'benchwarmer' tag of him.

Lacked firepower up top? With one of the best ever strikers in Henry & a quality player in Trezeguet? * you talking about man? :smiley-laughing002: They destroyed many a side and have almost 90 International goals between them.

Give us a laugh, what strikers in the modern era were/are better than Henry in your opinion?

There is no way you can justify saying Henry was overrated... such a ridiculous thing to say! He was forced to play out of position for Barca and still scored a fair load of goals.

I just don't understand how you can say two players who are regarded to be two of the greatest ever to grace the Premier League an be overrated because you compare their Arsenal records to their records at other teams. Especially since they spent their prime at Arsenal.

The Barca side that contained Henry, Eto'o and Toure were the greatest side in History.

Henry was nearly as good at Barca as he was at Arsenal, not quite but close.

Couple of keepers. Barthez who could be prone to a mistake or two and was never in the class of someone like Schmeichel or VDS for Man Utd.

Dida as well. Alright he won a WC but he had one of the best Brazil teams of recent memory playing in front of him. He won quite a bit at Milan but just never seemed to have that presence that a lot of top keepers like Buffon or Kahn had at the time.

Dida didn't play in the World Cup 2002, Marcos was the number 1. I wouldn't say Barthez or Dida were overrated, they certainly had their fairshare of critics during their careers. I never rated Dida but Barthez was class in the late 90's, hot & cold at United though.

Not a chance. He was a pure Arsenal legend where as at Barca he played less, scored less and was second fiddle to a number of better players.

Don't get me wrong, he had many a great performance but the difference is night and day.

My nomination is Ryan Giggs. A superb winger once upon a time but for more than a decade he's been quite an average midfielder. Stunning longevity, and you have to be quite decent to stay in the side but he's a legend purely for longevity than for quality in my eyes.

My mistake, I thought he played. Didn't really rate Barthez at dealing with crosses but maybe I watched him most during the latter part of his career.

I kind of agree with Giggs but you can tell when he plays his experience s insane, knows every inch of a football park inside and out. Comes in very handy a lot of the time. No doubt he has been past his peak for nigh on a decade though but that's no shame.

Paul Gascoigne for me is one of the most overrated players ever. Scored that one decent goal against Scotland and not a lot else in my opinion.

There has been an influx of perversion on this forum over the past couple of months, but that probably tops the lot.
