Anthony Stokes

An on form Stokes would have buried some of the chances created today. As one of the top two finishers at the club, Ronny really needs to think about playing him or at least having him on the bench.

 

Agreed. Stokes would have had the smarts to unpick that packed Heart's defence.

I have said it before, I think Deila is cutting his own throat with this exclusion of Anthony Stokes from the team.

 

Because he will be on form? He ain't played for months! There is a reason he ain't playing. Simple as that. People come on here as if they know better.

If i was going to play him it would be as ST or behind the striker one of his best attributes is his finishing. Hes not a winger. Id however play him over Ciftci and see how he does.

 

Just speculation on your part. Nobody knows what is going on between Deila and Stokes, but one thing is for sure, it is to the detriment of the team and club as a whole.

I don't recall Lenny having this kind of situation with Stokes, and Deila still hasn't come clean on the Stokes exclusion.

 

Out of all the players in our squad Stokes is good enough to be in the first 11. Not for every game but he should not be frozen out. Did this whole * start when he missed the flight last year?

Maybe Stokes is trying to outlast Deila at the club.
I can see some of the Celtic fans turning on Deila because of this exclusion of Stokes from the team.

 

I wish that was true because it is fashionable to hate on Stokes. I never understood what that was all about. He has to be on of the most underrated players we have had in years.

The guessing situation is just bullshit. Stokes should be working his * off in training to force Ronnie to bring him on as a sub if it's his attitude which is at fault. Whether bridges are burnt I don't know but I doubt Ronnie would let that happen.

He could be a useful player for us at times and surely Ronny could help adapt his playing style to suit him better. We all know he is a second striker, not an out and out centre forward. So yes it doesn't fit in with our one-up-front thinking but at times we will need to chase goals and he could provide service to a Griffiths or Ciftci. Plus he *can* get goals from this natural position for him, let's not forget that.

Stokes is not playing because there are others in the team that do it better than him.....its that * simple.
This is as bad as the time the red tops had a huge fight between lennon and commons, commons had played his last game for celtic blah blah bah...only for commons to come out in a cast for training as a joke.

Why does there have to be some fight between ronny and stokes or stokes is not playing because he missed a flight.

Ronny has shown a few times players get dropped when they are not doing well or as asked and they will return to the team when they are ready...griff and guidetti both got dropped and got another chance when they did as asked.

 

So Stokes is infact a big fan of the house ?
