    Although Armstrong had come onto a game recently, Stokes was by far the best option we had on the left for the last 6 months.

    There is clearly off field issues there, clash of personalities maybe I dunno.

    Stokes brings the best out in Izzy too.

    Isn't mobile, energetic or quick enough to be a winger. Exact same problem Commons has.

    Armstrong isn't a natural winger either but he is quick and direct enough to work out there.

    Stokes is a better option at left wing than either Armstrong or GMS.
    Has to be a personal bust up on the training ground with Ronny. Has to be, to be this serious.

    I don't think Armstrong is that much quicker than Stokes. Both are quite similar in that they want to get on the ball and pass and move. Stokes has been doing it for years and Armstrong hasn't been doing it enough.

    Both are wasted out there though.

    Armstrong once he gets going is * quick, Stokes not so much. Stokes does have that ability to score but his lack of defensive cover and ultimately being played out of position has been his downfall.

    In saying that Izzy links up with Stokes on the left better than anyone else.

    There were a few games when Stokes and Izzy looked good out on the left together, but obviously Deila didn't think it worked otherwise he'd have left him there.

    I think Stokes' best position is part of a front two, and we know that isn't going to happen. I think he'd be doing himself a favour by looking to move on because it's clear he's never going to figure regularly in the first team now, which is a shame because he's a real threat imo.

    Apparently as part of the Scott Allan deal, we agreed to loan 2 players to Hibs for the season. As yet the 2nd player hasn't been agreed (O'Connell was mentioned). Maybe we could give them Stokes!!!

    I don't think Stokes has any intention of leaving though.

    Stokes is far better than the Scottish Championship.

    He is also far better than a loan.

    My comment about loaning him to Hibs was "tounge in cheek". I don't see him going anywhere unless he's desperately unhappy. From what I've heard, Stokes has made it clear that he feels he has something to offer.

    My own personal opinion is that Stokes(and Commons) are not in the future plans of the manger and are surplus to requirements.Again that's my opinion.

    In the case of Stokes,the most important person in the whole matter doesn't rate him valuable enough to keep him around.

    I would have to agree with you there that Stokes best position is as part of a front 2. Given we rarely ever play with 2 up top its hard to see Stokes getting a lot of regular first team football this season which is a shame as he is a good player who has done well for us.

    Apparently Bolton wanted Celtic to pay vast majority of his wages for the loan. No point in us doing that so was rightly rejected in my opinion.
