Celtic offer for Newcastle winger O'Brien

Alan O'Brien is leaving Newcastle United. The Sunday Mirror says O'Brien is being tracked by Celtic, West Brom, Wolves and Leicester after making it clear that he won't be signing a new contract at Newcastle.
The 22-year-old winger has been offered the chance to be put through his pre-season paces at Parkhead by Gordon Strachan, but a move to the Championship looks more likely.

 

definetly would not like him to come here not another squad player he has a hope in * of breaking into are team..i fink it would be for the best for him to go to championship

 

Never even heard of him tbh which cant be a good sign

 

Would like him as a squad player as u never know how many injurys we could hav

 

We should definitley sign him.He has blistering pace and is an established member of the full Irish squad

 

Don't think I would call a player with only a handfull of caps an established member of the Irish squad. Personally I think it might be better for O'Brien to go to a smaller team where he can be assured of first team football. He is a player who has promise but at 22 I would think he needs regular first team football to take the next step as a player himself and you would have to question whether he would be a regular at Celtic.

 

This guys pace has gotta be seen to be believed but havent seen enough of him to know if thats all hes got. Hes only had a few callups for the irish squad, by no means a regular. might be worth a look tho
