    I hoping we'll sign at least another striker relegating Stokes to third choice (also there's a chance he could play in one of the three positions behind the striker).

    I feel we need to sign another striker to at least compete with Leigh for our starting position and if we do Stokes will be at least 3rd choice.

    Fingers crossed. Decent guy and always gives his best; however if we're aspiring to get regular champions league football then Stokes isn't the answer. All the proof is there that he's ineffective at that level, if we could offload him and get in McGeady for a similar fee that'd be a smashing bit of business.

    If we were to sell stokesy and get mcgeady in for roughly the same price, I don't think 1 person on this board would complain. I'd still like to keep him around the squad, if he wasn't guaranteed a start, which looks the case under Ronny now..

    I really like stokes I just think he's had set backs from off the pitch etc. in terms of striker I think he needs to play off another striker and not just a cam.... I think no matter where he plays he does very well and try's his best.

    If Ronny is wanting to trim the squad then Stokes is likely going to be for the off.

    At the moment, it looks like he is third choice striker. And on the wing he has to contend with Armstrong, GMS, Forrest, Janko to an extent and Commons who has been played out wide several times last season. And then we have young Duffy who might make a step up.

    Duffy is off on loan Forrest is injury prone Armstrong isn't as good on the wing and janko is unproven only leaves GMS but if we get McGeady I be 'd happy to see him go
