I don't like the idea that we should be signing '£4 million pound players'. We should be signing players because they are good enough, not because they cost a certain figure. I'm sure you realise this as you always talk sense on here but its something that always irks me!

This window will be a big test of our ambition and I think it will give us an insight into the way we are going to operate for the foreseeable future. If Hooper is replaced by a championship journeyman and/or Kevin Doyle then we, as a fanbase, should be extremely worried.

I have seen a fair bit of Billy Sharp over the last few years and while I have no doubt he is a good player he is nowhere near good enough for us. I would be a bit disappointed if we sign him

Interesting possible turn of events. Celtic's star player joins a "diddy club" and then Celtic want to buy a player deemed surplus to requirements at said "diddy club". Maybe explains why Neil Lennon is being so complimentary to the "diddy club" in the press.

To be fair to Billy Sharp, he'd score a shed load of goals in the SPL, and I wouldn't be so quick to rule him out of being effective in European games - particularly at Celtic Park.

Or maybe it's bullshit. We won't buy Billy Sharp.

That's because Shitehampton are a diddy club - the only thing you have the great luck of getting is a cash windfall.

Until you do something of note - i.e. qualify for Europe, you will be also rans.

You got our most promising player - so be it. We got the best part of £13m mate - jackpot. Wanyama will be at your club for probably a lesser amount of time that he was at Celtic for. He went to you for le cash, and to use your club as a stepping stone. Good luck to him. * luck to your lot.

Billy Sharp would score a shed load of goals? Well, hopefully if we do take a punt on him, then that would be the positive outcome. Although I dare say that the smugness and sheer arrogance of clowns like you would sy that a one-legged 12 year old girl would become top goalscorer in Scotland.

Anyhoo - who gives a * what 3rd rate English supporters think about our club, we've scalped the biggest and best from Engerlund over the years. I'd prefer to play German opposition anyway, considering they have the best European league out there.

surely if we wanted sharp we would have looked for a part exchange in the wanyama deal. dont for a second think we are interested in him. Austin might be something we will look at as we look for value in any transfer and i think with doubts over austins long term fitness we may get at a cut rpice. whether austin would come here afyer being so close to joining the premier league is another thing tho.

Think its more than likely we will have some unknown to us striker from europe to come in and take over hoopers mantle.

Rather have Austin than Sharp. I saw Sharp a few times at NFFC last year and he was a bit inconsistent. Good player when on form but can go missing during the match at times

If he comes in and scores goals i don't care what level he came from. He's an experienced guy who's played a lot of football. Might not be such a bad signing, he may actually do well here. Championship is a good level and everyone we've signed from their so far has turned out to be really good signings of late.

Wouldn't mind Sharp at all. He's not my first choice though. It has to be Philipp Hosiner for me, then Charlie Austin, then Billy Sharp. Would like any of those 3 to replace Hooper, but Hosiner's my first choice.

Austin and Sharp?? Both wont cut it in Europe. Out of the 2 i would prefer Sharp based purely on the fact that Austin is a * idiot.

If we can qualify for the group stages then the board better spend on good forward players rather than English Championship pish

Isnt much better than Scott McDonald, certainly a inferior player to Hooper
Still think he would get 20-22 goals a season for us
