If they do go out on loan the one thing we have to make certain of is sending them to a side that they are actually going to get games with, one of the things that ruined James Keatings progress, along with his injury, was when we stupidly sent him out on a six month loan to St Johnstone despite the fact that they already were loaded with strikers.

Think a season on loan to spl teams would do them the world of good
I say spl teams as I think they would play regularly rather than potentially sit on the bench in championship. Would offer them with no loan fee if they start 70% of games in the a season as there progress would benifit us

So if they 2 do go out why other young players will play I would Say are better than any young player at Celtic so why put hem out on loan then good another player a chance tho isn't as good as them and this is the one to play watt n mcgeouch in the spl when there is no rangers very silly from Neil Lennon

If we're loaning Watt I think we have to sign two strikers.

Whether the story is factually correct or not it does raise something that has been bothering me for some time. The Club talk up the Academy and Development Teams and then go out and buy players for the 1st Team or secure the services of loanees who seem to just sit on the bench. Last season even after the SPL was won we didn't blood youngsters. Don't get me wrong, the facilities at Lennoxtown are superb and I applaud The Club for the way it is now structured from the bottom up/top down, but I just don't think that the hype placed upon some of these 'breakthrough kids' is justified.
We bring them in from all over in 'hope' more than anything else that we have a player of worth and unlike teams down South, history has shown that when we loan players out it is the beginning of the end of their time with Celtic. That has to change. If we are serious about their development, then if loaning young players out to other leagues & clubs is good enough for Man Utd & City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle etc then it's good enough for us....but I wouldn't loan them out to other SPL Clubs because the standard isn't good enough.

Agree with the guys who are saying we need to send them to teams who'll make good use of them.

Partick Thistle lost Chris Erskine to Dundee Utd and could really do with an attacking, playmaking midfielder like McGeouch. He'd slot straight into their 1st team and, if he kept injury free, would probably start pretty much every league game.

Hibs are crying out for a striker, having lost both Leigh Griffiths and Eoin Doyle. They've apparently filled Doyle's 'second-striker' role by signing Rowan Vine, but they still lack an outright scorer. Watt would do them a really good job. However, I'd rather see him get more time here.

Lenny's right to start thinking about an overhaul of the team. The pair of them need a bit of a shake.

Would love to see them get a loan move to a premiership team, but a move to Dundee United or Motherwell would be good for them.

I hope they enjoy it wherever they go and hit some good form. They've got it in them they just need the confidence and time on the pitch.

I agree with sending Mcgeough out on loan as I think he needs the game time to improve as a player. It also doesn't help that Lennon plays him a lot of different positions. He needs to go play a full season and find out where his best position is.

Watt on the other hand, I know he's only 19 but I think he can be a vital player for us this season especially if we lose Hooper.

I reckon it frees up 4 spots in the team. 2 strikers and 2 midfielders, one expensive (for us at least) and one cheap for each position.

I'd sign them both and play them up front together. Reckon they'd be quite good together as a partnership. McGeough has a physical presence and a good burst of pace over a short distance. If he doesn't have to cover much ground it suits him better to play over a shorter distance on the pitch.

What we could be doing with is a player in midfield who's fast over a longer distance, but still got a decent physical presence about him.

I cannot see it personally, if he loaned Watt out that would surely mean he is thinking of bringing in 2 new strikers because If Hooper and Watt both left we'd have Stokes and Balde..I would not be against 2 new forwards but I think only 1 will arrive.

As for Mcgeough I would quite happily send him out onloan but I doubt he will go. This is from the Sun remember, it has nothing from Lennon saying he wants to send them out, I'll wait and see if he says anything.
