Why? The rest of it is bull too, but that part is especially unfounded.

i think the board will do the usual. it'll wait to see how much we miss Hooper and Wanyama before trying to sign replacements. I mean I think we've done well with our signing policy, and its acceptable in the current financial circumstances to sell of the talent you've created for massive profit. But you have to replace it. If we don't replace what we're selling off then soon we'll be turning into Hibs, selling everyone from under the manager's nose, not replacing any of our players and then sacking the manager for not producing the results.

Because we only made the Champions League last year due to the outstanding performance of Forster aswell as the goals of wanyama and hooper. Wanyama was also our outstanding player in the qualifiers. Forster hasn't been the same since his injury, wanyama and possibly Hooper are away, and we have half of our first team out injured at the moment. It is not at all unfounded to say that AT THE MOMENT we have the worst team since Lennon arrived. We currently only have one striker who has played in a qualifier before and he's 19. Our defense is looking shaky and we have just come off the back of our worst pre seaon in a long time. I think we'll beat cliftonville and the next team but I think we'll definitely struggle in the final qualifying round. We were played off the park in Helsingborgs and Forster completely kept us in it if you remember correctly.

How the * did you jump to the bolded part from what we've been doing.:97:
We've already made a couple of signings close season, the youth players are getting nearer to the team, Wanyama's been gone 2 or 3 days & hoopers still here.
Yet some of us are on suicide watch.

How you can be disapointed when you don't know(and none of us do) what The Board, Lenny and Park have got lined up or what has been said between them, I dont know.

For all we know they could have a host of targets.

Forster hasn't been the same? Sorry but a couple of months of slightly worse form doesn't make a player irreversibly ruined. :56: He's a * lot better than he was when Lennon arrived. In fact, Lennon arrived with our squad in tatters and has since completely reshaped it. No way is our squad worse than it was when Mowbray left. I'm not having pre-season being used as evidence either. And Stokes has played in qualifiers before, as has Hooper, who has not even left yet.

The truth is that our squad has improved every year since Lennon took over. The sale of Wanyama is a blow but he didn't even arrive until Lennon had been manager for a season and a half. In short, you're talking *.

Total nonsense. We could have easily score 5 away goals in that game and most of their chances were from distance. They played well at times but didn't have many gilt edged chances.

Am I disappointed with John Park?

    Erm.........naw :56::56::56::56:

The last two players to have been sold by Celtic have raked in about £18m - both of whom were identified by JP.

I agree, only because of what's happened to the other lot down the road has it been accepted that our way is the right way :50:

Agreed. It might upset fans but the reality is, in general, we bring in a pittance compared to most teams competing in European football.

I do think most realise/accept that we go about things the right way...

You can never please everybody, some will always be looking to spend a large chunk on someone/marquee player but that won't happen ever again...
Well not as long as the money's * and we play in Scotland..

We've spent around 4 mill straight away pre season and made 12,we will still make a couple of signings aswell so we haven't exactly started the season penny pinching

It's a myth we made £12m. We paid £900k for him and will pay anything up to 10% to his previous club. There are also reports other clubs MAY be entitled to up to 5% as they had him during early career.

Then surely that would be owed from previous club to previous club :97:

I mean, as we were last to sell him on, we owe a % to Beerschott - so then why the * should we be paying out %'s to his previous clubs before he went to Belgium?

Never heard of that before in my puff.

I'm sure Lenny even said it was 12.5 although I could be wrong..

That's the widely accepted figure across the whole media board/sky sports etc

My maths is * but someone worked it all out and even with the 5 way fight for money it's all literally pennies we should still make a healthy profit of well over 10..
His old club went bust I'm sure aswell I'm Belgium so I'm not sure they'll even get anything..

If he was sold for £12.5m as most places have reported, we owe roughly £600k to his previous club.

That would mean (including recouping our initial transfer fee paid), slightly under £12m.

I genuinely can't see other clubs being able to flap their gums about being owed money by us :56::56:

We won't make over £10m "profit". We paid approximately £900k and owe some of the transfer fee out to other clubs.

Other clubs can have a legitimate claim on a % according to FIFA rules
