He's gets the chance to play twice v Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham...He might not play in all off them but they are all teams that we would love to play in Europe and he's has them all in the same league. We are far from CL football yet, we have 2 huge games to play with our team alot weaker than it has been for a couple of years then another 2 games after that if we beat Elfsborg against what will be a good team.

as a spurs fan i'd one day like to see him play for spurs, can't be any worse then that donkey of a striker adebayor or defoe tbh, i think if we gave him a chance he'd be good, but good luck at norwich!

I almost feel guilty that we've signed Hooper reading all the fantastic tributes from you guys.

I go home and away watching Norwich so I'll be seeing a lot of him.

I'm backing him to get more goals than RvW and I'll definitely be getting Hooper on the back of my new shirt!

The departure of Hooper underlines for me that Lenny's Celtic team is the one I have become most attached to on an individual basis.

I personally think him and Van Wolfswinkel will be a good combination. You have also made some good signings in Leroy Fer and Martin Olsson, wasn't Ola Toivonen being linked with you lot as well?

I am really looking forward to the first Norwich vs Southampton game of the season now anyway:smiley-laughing002:

You'll love him Canary. Delia will be coming up with honorary recipes for the Hooperman before the end of the year!
The only complaint any Celtic fan had of Hoops was that he was occasionally lazy and uninterested, but tbh most of us were last season! He won't suffer that problem in the prem as every game will be a test for his team and they are not guaranteed to win the league (not even guaranteed survival).

Hooper has scored at every level he's played and I'm confident he has the mentality to progress further. He always steps it up in big games, if you guys happen to draw Ipswich in a cup game, he'll score 6 without blinking.

Norwhich have been making some good moves in the transfer window, hopefully it works out well for them and they get a decent finish and Hooper gets some goals which gets him his England call up ahead of duds like Carroll who Hooper will hopefully outscore and see Liverpool come in with a £35million offer :icon_mrgreen:

Saying that if Southampton could pull out a couple more class signings on top of Lovren and Wanyama then this window is one the "lesser" teams really took advantage of very well which hopefully in turns makes for a more interesting MOTD

His style of player havent really ever succeeded in England. The poacher types who succeed there are more smaller quicker players like Andy Cole, Defoe, Yorke, Fowler, Owen, Hernandez, Kevin Phillips, Andy Johnson and even Hooper can play like that or more solid and stronger in the air types like Shearer, Van Nistelrooy, Drogba, Benteke, Ba, Yakubu types.

Players who arent quite quick enough, strong enough or good enough in the air can struggle. Like Pavlyuchenko, Jelavic, Jay Rodriguez, Rosenberg, Afonso Alves and Torres now he's lost pace and even Borini. Although Darren Bent who is this type has always scored enough goals to deserve a game, so you never know.

What 'style of player' is Hooper? You have an extremely weird habit of making the worst comparisons of players ever.

If Norwich or Southampton sign McGeady then when they play each other arguably our 4 biggest fan favourites or recent years Hooper, Boruc, Wanyama and McGeady will be involved in those games :54:

I would say Hooper could fit into any style of play. Id say he was least suited to playing up front alone but could play there with the right attacking midfielder supporting him, a more creative attacking midfielder rather than a goalscoring midfielder type. He can play in a front 2 as the most advanced striker or the deeper striker and play with any type of striker an Andy Carroll type, a Benteke type, a Van Wolfswinkel type, a Robbie Fowler type or a Wayne Rooney type or he could play like an attacking midfielder behind a striker.

I wouldnt define him as any certain style of striker as he's a well rounded intelligent player. Compared to Van Wolfswinkel who I would say is only a box player who doesnt venture far from the box and looks to get on crosses or and scraps and cant really play any other way.

Is Mcgeady being linked with either of them? He'd fit in nicely at Norwich creating for Hooper and Van Wolfswinkel upfront.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Wanyama go up against Ki for Swansea if he is playing.

Funnily enough it is the signings of teams like Swansea, Southampton, Norwich and Cardiff with Cornelius that have interested me the most so far. They have all spent money on some good players who are still developing and have some great potential.

In saying that Man City have spent pretty big so far, although I am not convinced by Negredo.

    I dont think he has.

Aye McGeady would be perfect for Norwich as they dont have out and out pace like that.

    Snodgrass Hooper McGeady
    Van Wolfswinkel

That would be a great front 4. Got the poacher to occupy defenders in the box, a pacey winger and creative wide player and the link-up player Hooper in the middle pulling the strings. Pilkington is a good player who I like but McGeady would be a step up and add a new dimension.
