You believe £3.5m is a bargain?

Without sounding like I'm having a dig (I'm not), have you even seen him play?

It's bee reported that they want €4m for him but again that could be rubbish. It is typical of Celtic to miss out on players because they wouldn't pay a little bit extra, but maybe I'm jumping to conclusions here. We will have made a tidy profit last year so hopefully we can speculate to accumulate on a slightly larger scale this season, if this boy is as good as he's made out to be he's worth paying that bit extra for.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that we are not even in for him. Could be a case of lazy journalism. Everyone knows we had scouts watching Evian in the cup final, originally I think it was only Sagbo we were after, then we were linked with a right back (a position that does not even need filled) and a centre half just because everyone knows we are on the look out for one. He has only played 30 odd games in 2 years for Evian, unless that is because of injuries he cannot be that great.

I think we could probably stretch to 3 million for this lad. No more than 3 million though.

Eventually it could prove to be a bargain. For a club in our position it isn;t a bargain just now.

I have watched youtube videoes of him and he looks good, not the finished article but think of how much he could improve at Celtic. He looks the part but.

I actually think £3.5million is quite a big gamble. The reason being, to make a good size profit on him, he would need to be exceptional. That's not saying he won't be, but it is a gamble. To double our money on him, he would need to be getting close to the level of Wanyama or there about in my opinion. He may well be that good, i'm not sure, but one thing I do know, is players like Wanyama don't come around all that often.

Jordan Rhodes ripped him a new * when the u21's beat Holland last year. Hopefully he's improved a lot since then.

Definitely looks like injuries going by transfermarkt. Played 41 games in 09/10 at the age of 20 for Monaco. In 10/11 he played 25 games but was out between Nov and March.

11/12 he missed the first half of the season, then managed 21 games before getting injured again in May. Then last season he played 24 games but again missed 2 months of the season through injury.

More than capable of filling Rogne's spot in the treatment room.

We should keep our options open, no point splashing out if there's actually a better player for cheaper.

No point in signing another injury prone player especially for a few million as he would probably cost, surely better options out there.

I think £3 million (or €3.5 million depending on how you want to put it) is still quite a gamble for us.

Personally I think either £2million or £2.5 million is what we should bid. We offer a lower amount but in return offer them a decent sell on fee, obviously a lower percentage if we pay a bit more (or none at all if we pay a lot more). I just hope we don't end up like last year where we loose out on targets because we take too long to seal the deal over a few hundred thousand. If he really has the potential that some people say I think we'll make a good return, especially if he can get in the Dutch squad (being in their World Cup squad would be even better).

The fact that he's apparently eager to sign for us is quite a good sign; who knows maybe if he's vocal enough it may have an impact on negotiations although it's pretty doubtful.

The alternative Mongongu seemed like quite a good target until I read his list of injuries over the last few years. Although he still seems a decent enough player I don't think we need another player made of glass.

Be good if true. Just prefer to wait and see Celtic confirm signings.
