That's now two players we've lost who have said they were happy at the club. Wanyama is on £30 k a week at Southampton - we could easily offer that. Hooper will probably get the same wherever he goes.

If he goes we use all his transfer funds to buy a replacement,I'm sure there's plenty strikers out the on par if not better than hooper. We can only hope there is,John park will get it sorted!

Two players who didn't want to sign new deals.

We can't afford to let players contracts run down, we have to generate income from somewhere.

Or we didn't offer what they wanted.

Sick of this wannabe 'Porto and Ajax model' some fans are obsessed with - we do not have the resources to follow that model.

    Stupid fantasy stuff.

Who said anything about Porto or ajax? Stop * generating arguments where there isn't one.

We need money, we don't get it from Sky or whoever else. so we are on a slow path towards becoming self sufficient through transfer fees.

    It's not a secret, it's happening now.

You honestly sound like you would be happy for us to * money all over the shop like the dead huns.

your sense of entitlement is nonsense.

We dont have the resources to follow the Ajax model? :smiley-laughing002:

Their model is all about making youngsters good and selling them for profits...Exactly what we do already and just made 11 million :52:

But no, we don't have the resources :smiley-laughing002:

If he goes I would like to see us sign a decent replacement but if not then surely we have more than enough people that could step in, Stokes and Samaras showed glimpses of how good a partnership they can be in pre-season or maybe have 1 up top with Rogic in behind and the thing that gets me most excited is the fact that this should technically mean Tony Watt will get more game time and after a few season I firmly believe he will be better than Hooper.

    Oh and RECALL BANGURA! :icon_mrgreen:

    Once.

Ajax produce players from their youth academy. The last good player produced from our youth academy was Aiden McGeady.

We will need good replacements for Wanyama and Hooper or we will struggle to qualify for the CL or if we do get there get gubbed too easy.

There's no need to have an "argument". In my opinion, and seemingly the opinion of a lot on the forum, you talk crap.

I said it in jest mate, you're right. But if he doesn't want to be here what can we do.

Losing him and Vic would be a MASSIVE blow. We will need some major reinforcements if we want to consider progressing in the CL..

Alot of their players don't come from their academy though, Huntelaar didn't, Suarez obviously didn't, Ibrahimovic didn't, and alot of the players they sign are from other youth teams. I.e Vertonghen, Alderwiereld, Fischer, Eriksson.
