The Express are perhaps the very worst non-tabloid paper for football news, imo. Last summer they broke the story that we had all but signed Jordan Rhodes, and that Michael Ciani was virtually a done deal as well.

Probably clutching at straws here but:

Gary Hooper ‏@HOOP588 3h "Just landed in glasgow."

Way too early for pre-season so maybe more contract talks?

Seems very early, but that would explain it :52:

I obviously know he lives in Glasgow :smiley-laughing002: but I just didnt think many players would be back in Glasgow before pre-season.

Folk tweeting him almost begging him to sign a new contract is an absolute red neck.

Folk tweeting our players, in general, is an utter red neck.

    Well aye that's true.

"My aunties dog died, can I get a retweet?"

    :smiley-laughing002:

Asking celebrities for retweets is an embarassment. Your literally asking them to click a button on a computer/phone and must recieve some sort of happiness from it. Fair enough asking them questions but wanting a retweet is the most pointless thing ever.

Worst is when they tell other * "thingmy retweeted me", as if its something good. Mind my uncle said it to me last season when I seen him at a game "Lennon retweeted me last night", I asked him what he said and he went "I just asked him for a retweet", I said what did he say and he just went "nothing he just retweeted it" - could literally see the pointlessness of it sinking into him as he told me

£6m or so and I would be happy to let him go. I get the impression he isnt keen on staying and while he is good, I dont think he is THAT good that we would be lost without him. We have a well balanced team that I do not believe would sorely miss one player (outwith Wanyama perhaps). 5 million could go to a top defender and if Balde turns out to be decent we would be ok with Balde, Stokes, and Samaras up front

5m+ and he can go, Hoops has been superb and I would love him to sign a new deal but it looks more unlikely everyday, lets take a profit an move on.

We've lost better players in the past and we'll lose better in the future.

Hopefully though he has a change of heart
