Ring in and say your thinking of canceling, my mate works at sky and said they will slash the price if you try to cancel your package.

I had some work done on the house recently and the scaffolding outside * my signal up to the point it never came back when they left.

I phoned Sky to sort it out and they said they would send out an engineer but it would cost me £65!

I told them to stick it up their * as I was thinking of going to BT anyway...

10 minutes later i had a free engineer call out, a new router box and £15 worth of credit. :smiley-laughing002:

Just phone them and tell them you are moving provider because it's too dear and they will slash your price.

    * 'ell it was only £50 when I worked there and I thought that was expensive. One of the selling points we had to give when I worked there was "you own your own equipment rather than renting it from our competitors". Wasn't allowed to say "Yer * when yer warranty's up and yer gear * up coz ye have to fork out for the repairs".

Are you able to haggle a little bit or is it really what they offer you?

I usually take what they offer, anything you get off the greedy * is a bonus, couple of year ago I threatened to cancel my whole subscription, told them I didnt really want to but felt that as a long term customer I was * off that I wasnt getting a free HD box like new cutomers were, got a discount of £15 for 6 months as long as I stayed with them for another year.....and a new HD box for free :smiley-laughing002:

Edit: little off topic but can you still order box office using the split phone line and a 9v battery...without being billed for it.......just wondering if it can still be done or have Sky found a way of blocking it.

Here in NZ we pay £49.50 a month, quite hefty but that covers HD, the sports package, DVR and multiroom.

We got a great deal through our ISP who pay the cost of HD and the DVR decoder for us, otherwise the total would be over £62.00 per month. Still, they sting us £50.00 for broadband as well, which is a pain! :smiley-laughing002:

We pay £53 a month, thats for all of the Sports channels , we don't bother with the films or HD.
I did speak to Sky this month to ask what was happening with ESPN,and they told me that that subscription will automatically end at the end of June, bringing my Sky bill down to £43, but that will - I think- mean I also lose SPL and Aviva Rugby, which are the two main reasons I have it, I think I better make a phone call.

£18, just for the HD Entertainment Extra pack with no sports channels, get my broadband from Virgin, so £40 all in. Sky don't do broadband where I live, which is why I had to go with Virgin.
