I don't think McFadden would come in as a Striker, Wide Man or Attacking Mid I think, Much like Commons.

He would never play as a striker for us winger most if the time and in the hole aswell if we were playing against a packed defence at Celtic park..

No always a fan of players old and out of contract who have had injuries especially but I think he could do a good job for us,still got abit if pace, the trickery and unknowns still there,he's a tim and openly says its his last chance so will bust a gut..
I'd be happy if he got the move

He would probably fit the role left by Paddy McCourt, although McFadden probably would be more involved in the first team than McCourt which wouldn't be hard to be fair.

I wouldn't be dead set against him signing as he's a free and the wages would be minimal so it might be worth a punt.

Id take him here, if he could stay fit he'd be another Commons. 5 goals and 4 assists in 13 games for Motherwell.

Seemed to be quite effective against other SPL teams last season. I like his style, direct, fearless, pulls defenders out of position. I think he learned a lot down south and still has a few years left in him.

    * it, as long as we're not offering him much. And as long as McFadden realises that it's Celtic that are giving him a break and not that it's our honour to have a former EPL player. If he approaches things with that attitude, he may well have an Indian summer with us. He would also need to realise that he would be a squad player, at least to begin with.

I don't think he'd have any problems with having to work for a place. He moved to Everton a year ago after all where he clearly had bags of competition for a place.

Would rather see young attackers like Watt, Atajic and George get games than sign him.

This, he's still good player but he's injury prone.

I can't help thinking this would end up like Ljungberg and he would just be on the bench all the time.

    Yes.

    What age was Sutton?

And no not really, but if it had been a choice been a young Lubo and an old Lubo then I'd have taken the young one, even if he hadn't fulfilled his potential yet. I think Russell has the ability to be every bit as good as McFadden ever has been.
