Wow, great read. He seems like a really good guy.

    Hope Dortmund win on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp is like your rather eccentric uncle who baulks at everything popular (Tiki Taka a la Barca) and goes his own way in life, listening to vinyl records and driving a beat up Ford Sierra circa 1987, because it gets him from A to B and that's all that * matters.

He's no hipster, indeed, he's the anti-hipster. Taking his team on a pre-season hunting and fishing trip to fecking Sweden? What a champ.

He's coolness personified, the managerial everyman. He does things on a whim that most of us would try to pull off if we were fortunate enough to have a multi-million pound football team at our disposal, just for the fun.

You should see what I have to say about Jupp Heynckes.

Jupp Heynckes is like your grandad, but not the stern one, the other one that let's you get away with stuff on the sly, with a telling wink and a nod...

    Only kidding.

Read that earlier on. Laughed at the bit where he said cried with shinji kagawa in his arms for 20 minutes when he left. His players call him ''Kloppo''. It is nice to see that the mastermind behind such a great team is also a bit of a character.

I bet people in Nürnberg and Mönchengladbach have similar feelings when they think of Gündogan and Reuss :icon_mrgreen:

So basically it is alright for Dortmund to get players from smaller clubs and paying them higher salaries, but it is not alright for Bayern to get players from Dortmund and paying higher salaries. Interresting :97:

I don't get this about stuff about Bayern throwing money around like mad and Borussia Dortmund acting all modest. One third of Real Madrid's wage budget is still * huge considering how much they spend on wages and how they compare to other teams in later stages of CL.

Bayern's main players are products of their own academy - Lahm (who wore the armband for both club and country for years now), Schweinsteiger, Badstuber and Kroos, who will most likely be main man for Germany in years to come.

Still, enjoyed that interview, I always like to hear and read stuff from people who have more between their ears other than same old phrases like "lads gave their best" and "I did go past 6 players, embarrassed the keeper with a cheeky lob and scored the winner, but at the end of the day, it was a team performance and we'll have to go one game at a time, giving 110% along the way".

He also has tight bond with players while also having enough authority to keep them in line, again something that's very rare nowadays. I think he should stay at Borussia as long as possible, he may experience major disappointment if he moves to some team with huge egos and different way of running the team altogether. Can't imagine that suggesting to go to Sweden on fishing trip in * rain and in complete isolation would go well with any other big club in the world.

Bayern have been cannibalising the rest of the Bundesliga for decades, comparing them to Dortmund in that respect is beyond ridiculous.

    No it is not.

Dortmund did the same about 10-20 years ago, but they overspent big time and almost went into administration. Then obviously they had to start saving some money. Now that they have big money again they are also buying star players from other Bundesliga clubs again.

By the way more than likely there will be 5 players from Bayerns youth academy on the pitch on saturday (Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Müller Alaba and Hummels) and if it wasn't for injuries Kroos and Badstuber would probably play as well.

Which proves my point, Dortmund have not been a consistent financial giant able to cannibalise the rest of the league, Bayern have.

Okay. But just because they were overspending in the past. Not beacuse they are the good guys and Bayern are the villain, as Klopp claims.

I'm not trying to portray Bayern as villainous, just stating the facts. :86:

It's a shame that it looks like most or the Dortmund boys will be leaving after Saturday, there would have been a team there that would've been able to compete at the very top for a while.

thought bayern bought lahm from vfb stuttgart or am i wrong. few years ago stuttgart won bundesliga bayern took gomez off them they done same to leverkusen when they took ballack they have buying star players at bundesliga sides for years imo this upsets challenging teams rythm and momentum to sustain challenges for the title man united do the same thing in england city also. so i agree with the guy who said they have cannibalised the league they buy talent more than they make it were as dortmund usualy create their own obviously i dont include reus in that

Actually Reus is a product of the Dortmund youth system.

They just had to buy him back.
