Mate, in 1969 there 132 000 at the cup final! In older times...even more.
People have more freedom, more money, more interests, are better educated about the world. It isnt a bad thing, its just life.
I think it is pretty safe to assume that brand Celtic will be around forever and a day, whereever Fifa takes the game in the future, but the fans are not working 80 hours a week anymore, with a life expectancy of 55, and little or no time for leisure.
Its a wee bit sad regarding the massive crowds and the whole nostalgia side of things......but it is a good thing for society that we have more than football to give us escapism, is it not?

I believe in *, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call * is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.

I mean we have more access to the world around us....varying interests etc, via TV or the internet!
Not that we are better educated, as we certainly are not.As my father keeps reminding me, "you know nothing son"!

I would choose seeing any of these over a Celtic game:

    1970s Pink Floyd
Nico perform with The Velvet Underground
Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli perform Con te Partiro.
Frankie Bones at Amnesia House in 1990.

Music has moved me to tears, football hasn't.

Football v Music - close one, music wins.
Celtic v Music - not even close, the hoops win all day everyday.

A closer challenge to Celtic would be

Celtic v Exercise - in which case exercise wins, nothing beats feeling and looking good. Health comes joint 2nd with * and both behind family.

    Watching Celtic vs Music- Celtic

Watching other football vs Music- probably music.... just about.

Playing football vs Music- definitely playing football, it's far more enjoyable than sitting listening to music or being at a gig. Plus football is competitive, and I like to win.
