Whilst a great manager, the guy is an absolute fruitloop. He could do a job for City performance wise, but there are egos in that dressing room and Bielsa is certainly not the person to handle that.

I dont think anyone classes Mancini as a good manager, to me he resembles more of an assistant manager or coach than a manager. Seems to jokey and not strict enough, players have walked all over him. I wouldnt even take Mancini as Celtic manager.

Pellegrini would be a great appointment.

Mourinho will beat Pellegrini and Moyes.

I fancy Chelsea to win it by 10+ points next season.

    1.Chelsea
    2.City
    3.United
    4.Spurs

    Unless United sign Ronaldo.

Will be an interesting season with all these new managers at the top clubs

If spurs can keep bale and bring in a quality striker (like they should have done in january) they will be in amongst it also

Benitez would get Everton sacked, and at liverpool he signed 80 odd players, only 5 were quality

Pellegrini is a great manager in the context of a discussion regarding La Liga, not the Premiership. You are contradicting yourself by disregarding Benitez' achievements in a different league in comparison to Moyes' then holding up Pellegrini's achievements in a different league as a reason why he is better than Moyes.

My one and only point was and still is, there is no possible way you can say Pellegrini is a better manager than Moyes and that is that. It is not as black and white as that hence the reason you can say Moyes is better Benitez despite the fact Benitez has won more trophies.

Was coming. He can only win the league as his overall European record at most clubs he's managed is awful. No trophies at a club like city means the sack.

Doesn't matter in the big leagues, success is success. Plenty of managers comes over from La Liga and suceed in the BPL.

    Ok so -

    Mancini; 3 x Serie A, 4 x Coppa Italia, 1 x Premiership,1 x FA Cup

    Pellegrini; 1 x Intertoto Cup

    Who is the better manager?

Well said. Some people are being a bit harsh regarding Mancinis ability. He has the trophies to back up his skills, the only thing lacking is European success.

Just seems that something wasn't right at City.

Its a bit too simplistic tbf Hammer. Pellegrini is a very good manager with an exciting philosophy to his tactics. I think he will do very well in the EPL.

By your measurement Roberto Di Matteo is a better manager than David Moyes, but I know who I would want.

Have you jumped into this debate at the latter stages without reading the thread? :56:

You have just reaffirmed my exact point.

what about what he won in South America? Copa Mercosur, Clausura title.....

he also got Real Madrid to their highest ever points total and was unlucky that he came up against the best Barcelona team in recent memory.

Turned Villareal into a half decent European team with some excellent players....

Mancini: won the league on GD with after spending a fortune, won the Italian league when all the other clubs were on their knees....

poor in Europe with Man City and Inter even though he has spent millions on top players

I would have Pellegrini every time but that is the beauty of football, we all have our own opinions....

So Moyes has won nothing of note and Pellegrini has won nothing of note yet Pellegrini is the better manager 'just because'. This is my point, you cannot say he is a better manager than Moyes without it being purely personal opinion.

Pellegrini has won quite a few trophies and has been successful in a few different countries.

Moyes has done really well with one club and won nothing.

It isn't debatable surely that he has a more enticing CV for a potential employer?

For the record I like Moyes, but Pellegrini has done more without a shadow of a doubt,

Anyone else think Fergie could be his replacement?

    One last challenge for him.
