I dont think it would need to be that much. Someone would sponsor us to sell their beer and cider, like Tennants and Magners "The official drinks partner of Celtic" or whatever.

At the ajax game, where pints are about the same cost as they are in Scotland in pubs its was only something like €4,50 for a pint of Heineken and a slice of Pizza, a coke is only £2.20 I think, a beer should only be £1-£1.20 more.

If controlled properly it should be brought back.

I dont see why alcohol would be a problem when drugs are tolerated! If you go to the toilets you come out stoned with the amout of "puffing" happening!

in my area of about the 50 people that stand inside(not even in the toilets) at HT about 15-20 are smoking, nobody ever does anything about it. Chances of lung cancer must quadruple by spending 10 minutes there a game.

The ideal boozing set up would be. 3 types of drink, lager, stout and heavy. Charge whoever is providing them £25k a year for the advertisement of selling it and sell them at £3 a pint, enourage fans to turn up 20/30 minutes early by putting stuff on the screens and have 2/3 before the game then another 2 at HT with a limit of 5 pints per game.

I agree with that. Maybe it shouldn't be available for big games where the attendance is expected to sell out and having it available for league games would entice more people to come to the game hopefully.

1 before and 1 at HT doesnt seem enough though. Id like if I wantd to to turn up and have 2 before kick off, then take 1 to my seat, back in at HT get another one and then take another one back to my seat for the 2nd half. Id only limit it at 5 as obviously theres your hardcore drinkers whod want 2 pints at a time and could end up with about 8 during a game.

99% of fans wouldnt even think of having more than 5 at a game anyway.

It probably doesnt go well in our country because boozing is too heavily regulated, like not allowed in stadiums, can only be bought between certain times. So people are always in a rush to get tore in, where as if it was always available people would be more relaxed. Like a saturday night if 24 hour supermarkets could sell it no-one would be rushed to drink quicker to buy more before shops shut, if they could relax and if they ran out they could get a taxi to the supermarket and get more.

Game last week was a good example, I had a bottle of buckfast and a few cans before 12pm just to get in the mood for partying at the game, ended up *, sick everywhere because I hadnt ate anything.

If I could have got booze in the stadium id have just went to the game and probably only had 2/3 pints when there but you cant so you have to cram in drink before the game.

Think its been shown various times in various places that when things are more relaxed and open then they are abused less.

There are many things wrong with this article.........
    1. people would be in a "controlled policed environment" *!
    2. Scottish Licensed Trade Association, Alcohol Focus Scotland
    lets get an independent viewpoint....
    3. Licenses....... Time the people in the UK told the government to get the * out of their private lives.

Licensing is something that allows you to do 'something' that is not normally permitted........ why should people be restricted from selling any legal product. ?

Licensing hours were restricted during the war (people working in munitions factories coming back * or not returning to work ) and the government probably had a good point in bringing in legislation ... bet hey, the war is over and the legislation is still in place

as is the temporary legislation allowing income tax (war tax! )

Time for the people in Scotland to wake up to what the governments have been doing... GO Check the Facts for yourself...

If all men are born free, equal in rights and dignity then who are the government or police to tell you what to do. Free means we are not slaves, not theirs to command. If CFC want to sell beer then sell it and take these scumbags to court... The UN Court of Huiman Rights

Spot on. Total backwards approach from government towards football in this country.

Scottish Football is not only lagging behind the rest on the field but also off it.

Back in the seventies the amount of " cargo " that some folk took in would have made your eyes water so a couple of pints seems not too much .

Your easily talking thousands of extra income each game from that alone and a lot better day out. Increase in crowds and everything they've wanted without league reconstruction. Governments killing football with all there stupid rules.

Bad idea. The combination of alcohol and football brings out the worst in a * of a lot of people in this country. I'm happy for the ban to stay.
