I agree. Think I'd rather spend my money on 2 weeks in the sun tbh!

Nice gesture from the club. I think they've realised that there was a chance that crowds could have dipped even more next season, and they have at least made an attempt to prevent this.

Although it was always going to happen, it's still a decent amount chopped off the price.

Great gesture from the club:50: I would have still renewed mine if the price remained the same as well but this is great...

People who go to games spend cash in the superstore and food kiosks.

Many rural hotels use similar tactics... offer B&B group rates at loss-leading rates as they know the group will spend the money on items that brings them back into profit (food... and especially drink!),

Savvy thinking (yet again!) by the board! :50:

All this talk about our attendances dropping rapidly is a * myth.
I'm not going to spell it all out and give you every bit of calculation (if you doubt me then do the leg work yourself), but, IF Rangers had still been around instead of Dundee, then our average attendance figures (with one game still remaining I've add an extra game at the average gate) would have been 48462. Compared to last 3 years of 50904, 49090 and 45582. That is 2k less than last year, 500 less than the year before and 3k more than the year before that.

Great gesture from the board - maybe it is to help prevent the potential drop in ST sales because of a certain club being in the league - or not. But I go to support Celtic, not one off matches against Rangers. And figures show that the rest of us do as well. Don't buy in to the media guff. We have had a couple low games against Dundee (understandable) compared to a few big ones against Rangers. We've also had to play the likes of Arbroath and Raith Rovers which has shown smaller crowds (not in the average league attendance mind you, and that is what the ST is for) where perhaps a percieved lower attendance has been seen.
Media are doing all the leg work to make us think we are not coping without that other mob.

And as a final point (and taking the above in to account for the other teams):
    Hearts this season - 12811. Last season - 13381
    Hibs this season - 10618. Last season - 9909
    Aberdeen this season - 9753. Last season - 9297
Dundee Utd this season - 7544. Last season - 7482

Of the other big four attendances, only the diets have seen a drop, the rest an increase, but not really much to shout about either way.

It'll be done to get more 'loyal' fans there every 2nd week. CL prices for non-st holders will be very big I think.

The costs of maintaining a stadium the size of ours, a wage bill the size of ours, and the policing bills, etc are HUGE!

We earn hee-haw (relatively speaking) from Tv and sponsorship, so that money has to come from somewhere.

So make your choice - continue with the standard of players we have at present in our well-maintained stadium... or lower the standard of player and allow the stadium to decay.

Celtic are where they are because our fans dig deep into their pockets!

They were very high this year and people were still desperate to get them. Can't really blame the board for that. ( not saying you are doing that but generally I have limited sympathy for folk that only wanted to go to the Juve and Barca games this year.)

It's still a lot of money for the league we're in and if the SFA manage to get their reconstruction plans passed we'll have two less games anyway.
