I definitely don't think Celtic are daft enough to spend money they don't have, so whatever we do spend will not be over budget. We have never been a club that spends more than they can afford. In my opinion the next signing will be an indication of what we are going to spend.

We'll never spend £25million. We'd be on our way to financial ruin if we had a howler of a season next year and players didn't fit in. I think the board will keep some money back for the January window too.

I don't think that. I reckon another 2 in the same price bracket, give or take a million either way, will be signing. Personally I think the "big" signing will be the striker, in the mould of Bellamy. Still hearing rumours about Makaay from Bayern, although I'd prefer Bellamy myself.

so... is brown regarded as a blue chip player.

i * hope not.... this guys been good for hibs.... but heez got the length of argyll street to improve if he wants to wear the hoops.

to my mind a blue chip player is the successful finished article.

    that disnae describe skoosh

I think GS could have 25 to spend if he can negotiate deals for players the board feel are very good, e.g. Appiah & Brown (according to reports they are happy to pay for Brown), otherwise it would be less, imo

I dont think GS will spend 25 even if its available, I dont think he'll spend for the sake of spending.

We don't have 25 million pounds to spend on transfer fees.

People don't understand that wages are included in a transfer budget. So Scott Brown will take 6 million of our budget this season when wages are included.

A 25 million budget doesn't mean we have that amount to spend on transfer fees alone. That's the budget not only for transfers, but for the wages of EVERYONE at the club, from the senior squad to the youth team to the staff.

Our budget probably is around 25 million. I doubt the information is wrong. But all players are included in that budget. Example, if Gravesen stays next season at 40 grand a week, he'll take 2 million off that 25 million budget.

There are two budgets, one for transfer fees and another for players wages.

We currently spend about 25M a season on players wages alone, so that doesnt make any sense if transfer fees are included
