Got an interview on Monday think I have a really good chance. An agency contacted me for a job that I had applied for months ago but they lined another guy up however he has pulled out at the last minute, and they say that they're not forwarding on anyone else's CV and they need to fill it quick. Its not working with the agency but with the employer itself,

    Pro's

the conditions are far superior to what I have at the moment; i.e pension 12 hours less a week, extra weeks holiday, sick pay and an extra 1500 p.a wages,

    Cons

    Some nights involved
What doesnt quite sit right is they want a starter with a weeks notice, contactually with my current employer I'm asked for 2 weeks notice. Current company is pish but I work with good people and i'd be dropping my boss in it, it takes 2 weeks for screening before someone can start with my current employer and prob interviews spread over a week also. There could be promotion up for grabs but its nowhere near becoming reality. To be honest the company doesnt invest in its people and going by the other employers website they do invest in there own people.

I feel a pang guilty and dont want to * on anyone

    Thoughts???

Attend the interview and if you get offered the job do what you feel is right for you and your family.

    Good luck. :50:

Seems odd to me that the other guy pulled out at the last minute if it was such a good job.I would be cautious about this and try and find out more facts about the company and their long term prospects.

If it sounds a better number i would jump at it ,why so soon to fill position is it to cover a shift pattern?

Are you sure the last guy did not start then * off

Seems weird that they are offering a full time position via an agency
I have never dealt with agencys so i dont know

A thought whiskey bond was a good number the maintenance boys are always on a good rate

Just go with what you want to do, look after number 1

Any company wouldn't bat an eyelid at telling you to * off in all honesty.

You would only regret it if you didnt take the chance when you have it, the guilt wont last for long.

If you were the boss would you fret over a good employee leaving or move on to the next?
Take the job and take care of yer own, leave the loyalty to the soft handshake idiots, they'll breed themselves out sooner or later.

Normally I would say go 4 it but the one thing that would make me think twice is the unsocial hours it * your sleep pattern up and makes you grumpy so stick with the one you got just keep looking for something that suits you better.good luck whatever your choice:50:

    * the company.

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there just now. Look after yourself and your family first and foremost.

    cheers for the replies:50:

Someone mentions the unsociable hours but thats 1 thing that does my noggin in in current role ,60 hour week Mon-Fri and no scope for change without taking on a part timer but id need to take a big hit on £'s.
Ive got a st for the 1st time in my * live but theres a possibility i'd need to give it up but the other side i get more time with the weans
