    The word Tumshie is great way to describe a to describe turnip or a useless superstar Scottish footballer, wife is from the N/East Coast and would use the term NEEP, love our dialects no matter where you go in Scotland the patter's great, eg Ginger - Fizzy Drink, Cludgie- WC, Cuddy-horse....what's your own favourite dialect word.:56:

    Only met one person who calls it ginger. I always call it fizzy juice or coke or sprite etc.

    Hardly anyone calls it Ginger down here.

    My dad stays in Aberdeen now and being from the West of Scotland says "wan" for the number 1. Gets the * taken out of him a lot for it apparently :smiley-laughing002:

    But I do tend to call it ginger more than skoosh.

    Drookit (with the added heefty, as in heefty drookit....or i'm * soakin)

    Dreich = dreary. Because it sounds like what it means.

    Curly already listed it but amadan is a brilliant word - but I dont hear it used enough
