    more to do with the way Ireland play than their relative skill levels imo. Doyle is a grafter who will run all day which is exactly what Trapattoni desires.

    Good one. Doyle is guff. Just a workhorse who will run about for you all game. Doesn't have a lot of skill or technique to his game. I would be severely dissapointed if this is who we ended up with. Could do alot better.

    I think if we sign him, it wont be for his goal scoring ability. He'll be bought to do the dirty work on parks like dingwall and inverness. And I reckon he'd do a job for us in that roll. He's not gonna set the heather alight but he'll do an honest job for us.

    I'd take him on a free transfer to be honest but if Hooper goes I would expect the club to bring in a higher calibre than Doyle.

    We need bodies up front and we need people who will put their own body on the line for the cause and I think Doyle is one of those players who would.

    Also think coming from the Irish league originally he'd cope fine with less than average pitches.

    I think he could do a job for us in the league and in Europe, not necessarily goal scoring wise, but certainly in effort and determination.
