Chose. Or as I like to think of it, Celtic chose me.

I cast about for a team to support for some time but never found any enthusiasm for anyone, until one day when I sat down to watch a Old Firm match. I knew nothing about the teams.

After fifteen minutes I felt that I liked Celtic and disliked Rangers. I'm not sure why. Maybe it was the way they played, maybe the expression on the players' faces, something intangible and instinctive.

Then, as I learned about the club, its history of charity, its struggles and firm stance against bigotry, and how Celtic fans bring warmth and friendship throughout their travels, then I knew I had the club for me.

What settled it was one evening on the tube in London, after Celtic had played a game against Arsenal (and lost). I saw three Celtic fans on the train talking and laughing with a man and a boy about 10 or 11 years old, both Arsenal fans. During the conversation one of the Celtic fans took out a Celtic scarf and gently wrapped it around the boy's neck as a gift.

Seeing that kindness, friendliness and generosity in a group of fans, even after losing, was what made me a Celtic supporter for life.

    I was converted!

I first got into fitba in the early 80's and as my Dad was from Aberdeen (and as Aberdeen were doing particularly well in that era), I had a leaning towards them.

And then sometime in the mid-80's I was watching an interview with Daniel Fergus McGrain and I took an instant like to him. I then started focusing on his performances in matches and became a 'Danny' fan.

By the late 80's I was Green and White to the core and I've never looked back!

Inherited it,my dads side all Celtic from Hamilton and his brother my uncle used to take me from the age of 7 as much as he could...
They used to go on the buses every week when they were still living up there, the old man became an armchair fan when he moved down here, and we would go anywhere that regularly showed the games...
Mums side all from Glasgow Celtic aswell so was never an option for me even when surrounded by Chelsea fans growing up and funnily enough all my mates are Chelsea or millwall...
Always asked who my English team was and that I must have one but I never, living in England I've attended loads of fixtures and different teams I've taken in for the day and there is no club down here that's close to what we are and stand for, half the people down here that support London teams and have season tickets and they haven't a clue when it comes to football talk!

Mum is a Celtic fan so always had a soft spot for them. Although wasn't really what I'd call a fan until I went to Uni in 2004 and started to attend games on a regular basis.

Chose it, Dad was Scottish, so grew up watching Scottish football in England and fell in love with the green and white hoops of the Celts!

A bit of both to be honest, my dad's a Celtic fan and he introduced me to them at an early age. It still took me a fair few years to actually like football but when I finally did I chose Celtic.
