    He's improved drastically this season.

I for one have enjoyed watching him play and have often anticipated him starting.

I watched him at the final whistle he just casually started to strolloff the pitch and I was like *? is he seriously not going to take the applause and applaud the fans...

I then notice he just went over to his best pal zaluska and ran and jumped on him ands started going crazy:smiley-laughing002: does anyone know why these two are so close?

Just this season? Since Lennon took charge I say he turned himself around the day he scored two at mordor became more consistent even though you see him dose off time to time... It's small things that I appreciate about him tbh he is a really hard worker loses the ball he will then chase it down and make a nice clean tackle and win it back and his off the ball movement is really good especially on it... I hope he finishes up here love the big man

Broony is our longest serving player atm, not Sammy.

I love Sammy, have from day 1 almost. He truly loves playing for the club and has remained loyal even when most people wanted him out. Not sure if he's POTY though, Wilson, Forster, Wanyama have all reached high levels this season and played key roles.

Some people implying here that he doesn't deserve it based only on champions league performances. Why?

I can think of no better way to judge a players season than by how he performs in the most challenging games. Especially this year when those games basically define our season. No one will remember this season for how we did against St Mirren or Dundee, it will be remembered for beating Barcelona at home, winning away to Spartak Moscow, getting to the last 16 etc. Games that Samaras was pivotal in.

Wanyama, Wilson and Forster have all been tremendous but Sammy showed just how valuable he really is in big games and the fact that he would pretty much be the first player on anyones team sheet in the CL speaks volumes.

I would have voted him for POTY last year had Mulgrew not shone so brightly.

Samaras will definitely be getting my vote this year.

Wilson, Forster and Sammy are the only ones in contention imo.

Sammy clearly loves this club! He was going daft while warming up when he thought Langfield was time wasting.

FYI that is not a reason for him to win, just wondering if anyone else saw it.

No, hes not consistant enough. Only performing in 3/4 out of every 10 games.

Scott Brown, Matthews and Lustig for me have been out 3 best most consistant performers but wouldnt be in contention because Brown hasnt played a lot and Lustig and Matthews are in and out due to the competition for their position so they arent playing week in week out.

Ledley missed a lot of games too but has been good.

Wanyama, Wilson and Hooper have been our best players whove played most of the games and Forster but Forster hasnt played too well since January.

His performance has been more consistent than Kevin Wilson's. I really can't think of anyone that stands out for me either. Might as well be Sammy.

This inconsistency issue is now ridiculous, take Hooper for example since mid december he's lucky if he's played well in what 4 games yes he's scored yesterday but again was rotten, and there are a good few others who inconsistency can be levelled at.But this season and last season Samaras HAS been consistently good I'd go as far as to say this season Samaras is the one player we look to for genuine excitement going past players etc and to that end I think yes he is a candidate for POTY I think anyone disputing that is struggling with their previous opinions of the player and it can be added he is'nt one who's constantly on the lookout to jump ship which in this day and age carries a lot of weight.

Totally agree with this. People cant seem to move on from their opinion of him from 2 years ago. He's improved massively and is far more consistent these days.

Matthews for me. Sammy in with a shout, Matthews won't win it but I do think he has been our best and most consistent performer. Others in with a chance include Forster, Wilson, Wanyama and Ledley. No real stand-outs this season though.
