Gianluigi Lentini. Was AC's best player. Would have been on level of Zidane, C.Ronaldo etc but crashed his motor at high speed and was never the same player again

Here's one... Alexandre Pato. He's 23 when only a year or 2 ago he was 'it'. The next big thing.

The thing about Pato is that he has had serious issues with thigh injuries. The move back to Brazil could be very beneficial to him since they have excellent medical facilities over there whereas the Milan medical team had given up on him.

Corinthians spent a huge chunk of cash on him so it's massively in their interests for them to fix him up and scoring goals so they can sell him back on to Europe for a good fee.

Certainly not the end of the road for him.

He's the first guy i thought about straight away. Peaked way to early. Still one of the greatest ever to watch.

Torres was incredible at both Liverpool and Athletico Madrid And just looks like half the player. Your were thinking after already playing in England before moving to Chelsea he would of been class for them.

And Shevchenko, * absolute goal machine at Milan, one of my favourite players at the time just turned pure pish over night. Maybe the English game didnt suit him.

George Best was more or less finnished at 26 just when he was reaching his peak years.

The great Joe McBride, could have been world class if he had not suffered injuries, an opinion that both Jimmy McGrory & Fergie both subscribed to:50:

Just ordered his book been meaning to get it for a while, its crazy like Lampard or Zidane giving up the game just before their peak. Jock Stein called him our Beckenbauer, praise indeed.

How old was Edgar Davids when his career went on the slide?
