I obviously read stuff into it that wasn't there.:52:

Of course it has. This season has been a massive disappointment domestically because nobody has stepped up to replace Rangers as title challengers(in retrospect maybe I was deluded, but I kind of had a sneaking hope that Hearts might do something like that). I don't think our performances have been anything other than predictable. We're doing enough to win the league comfortably and IMO the players can't be blamed for being unable to inject a sense of urgency into the game that's not really there. This total lack of genuine competition is uncharted territory for everybody and although Lenny get's lots of advice from more experienced managers like WGS, MON and Fergie, I'm pretty sure they've never experienced anything like it either.
I'm not repeating my earlier mistake and assuming you disagree with any of this btw.

I'd agree with you regarding the league cup semi, but as far as the league is concerned I really can understand why the players are finding it difficult.

Edit: not that I don't think Lenny needs to find a solution and fast. I do. In the long-term this isn't good enough. I think he'll figure something out eventually, though. He usually does.

listen you started the insults ...I ain't no kid , I have followed Celtic since the early 70's, I'm sorry you can't afford a season ticket as if you could you would witness the drivel I have been watching most of the season.

Out of the rest of the teams in the spl which player(s) would you have put in the Celtic team that faced Juve ?

My answer none ...I hope you are following me here & where I'm going

Lennon is actually full of * at times.

He's basically saying in that interview that he's calling certain players' attitude in to question and hasn't thought the right attitude has been shown by some in the last few games - yet he was on Twitter today TELLING Celtic supporters not to question the commitment and attitude of the players.

He wants the fans to do what they do best, support the team. The rest is up to him and his staff.

The fans have every right to do what fans do - and that isn't just blindly support their team or be cheerleaders for the men on the pitch.

I don't follow Twitter so I wouldn't know but all I do know is that listening to him in that interview he's * about the performance today and he's right to be.

I never saw the game today, but from what I have heard and seen we were coasting up to 2-0, then for some inexplicable reason we basically chucked it away. He may have said that on Twitter but I'm glad he's not sugar-coated it today.

How many times this season have we heard this sort of thing from Lennon though?

It's down to the players on the park to perform on the park - but Lennon is their leader and if there are people in the squad not fulfilling their duties, then they should not be in the squad until their mentalities change.

It was a real step back into the past watching the game it was the old kick and rush stuff which some of us older fans were more used to watching in the 70's.They got their tactics spot on and we could'nt cope and as the game went on they looked far more likely to score.

I'd argue that Strachan had a harder rebuilding job than Lenny. Don't you remember the mess that was left after MON's reign?

Strachan also had to enforce massive fiscal savings, and maintain them.

I know this might not be a popular opinion but... we badly need someone to challenge us for the title... if you know what I mean...

I've already said that apart from tonight I find your posts generally negative and depressing :icon_mrgreen::bbpd:

Lennon is about as inconsistent as the players he berates imo.

If he has any thoughts that a player has the wrong attitude becoming of a professional footballer representing the club, then they should be dropped immediately until the change their mentality.

I fully EXPECT this to happen for the next game after hearing that interview from Lennon, or I will genuinely lose any confidence I have in him as a manager.

If we dont win our next 2 or 3 games we might have 3 teams in with a chance :icon_mrgreen:. Maybe Lennon will shock us all and play the youth team who at least will fight for 90mins.

The players should still do the job on the park I agree, but I think Lennon's starting to get * now because he's been giving players several chances to perform and they aren't. End of the tether could be getting reached with a few of them.

I'm sure that come the summer if players attitudes & performances do not change then he'll be doing some clearing out, just as he said in that interview. Lennon said it himself - he had to wring the changes today because of the traveling but the players that were on the park should have still done the job.

How many times have we been annoyed after a below par performance and slated Lennon for defending players when he shouldn't have? I'm glad he's telling it like it is today.
