He was * but he was doing a good job in there, team wise, he just sat infront of the defenders and didn't allow anycunt to run at the defence. He was * shocking on the ball and gave away far too many fouls though.

What I meant was the shape of the team and balance in midfield looked far more solid, where he was playing allowed McGregor and Bitton space to play.

When Broony gets back up to speed and Bitton as well, that should make us very * dangerous.

We've had far better midfield performances from players this season, without ever actually doing a good job in midfield because we tend to abandon it when we have the two in there.

The role was effective, he personally wasn't.

Are u for real. He has done this all of his professional career. He cannot pass the ball at Hibs and now with us. He's at the wrong age now as a footballer and the injuries have also caught up with him. Looks to be 60% the player he use to be. Energy levels have dropped dramatically

The Rangers game should bring out the best in him, if he doesn't perform in that game I would worry.

    Yes.

He's giving the ball away a lot more than before, hardly an opinion that should shock you.

From 80% of the time, to 90%, so yes I agree it's got gradually worse how many times he gives the ball away.

Always amuses me that folk say stuff like that, stats don't back it up. Always amongst the top 5 accurate passers in the team. Every season. Especially in Europe.

His distribution when he first came was woeful. That hasn't been the case for years and years though. Suggesting he's always gave the ball away regularly is a lie.

Funny, imo, he plays best in Europe a lot of the time. It's as if when the energy of the team is up, he plays better. But the thing is, in Europe or domestically, if we're 1-0 down, I never have faith in him to drag us out of it. He can be excellent in a match where we are performing well, but if we're not he seems to just constantly give the ball away and foul.

In fairness though - is that not due to a large number of short sideways or backward passes? I think this is the issue - when he's either running around yapping at the opposition like a hyped Jack Russell or he's passining it back and sideways. Either way it's completely ineffective.

I think that we dramatically slow down when he's playing - chuck Mulgrew in as well and we are unimaginative and glacial.

Been * since he's come back from injury. Bitton and McGregor might be the way to go

Awful today, looks to have lost his presence since he came back, not the same power and pace and bullying players off the ball actually looks weak.

Maybe he was brought back too early from injury as he was such an influential player for us :54: He's definitely not the same player at all. He seems to have diminished in all round stature and play. What he lacked for in skill he made up for it being a little muscled up buzzbomb irritating the * out of the opposition now he's like a shadow of himself. Having grown his hair just makes the transformation all that more dramatic. If this isn't his last season it should be as I don't see him ever being the same brooney again :54: I won't slate him as he's been a legend at times for us.
