Are we one of the best 16?

I'm just wondering, does us reaching the last 16 mean that we are now one of the best 16 teams in Europe?

 

Technically yes. Although you could name 16 teams better than us pretty easily. I'd say we are one of the best of the "rest" though. Like if you took out Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France and maybe Holland... we'd be one of the top teams.

 

I wouldn't say so, not yet.. It's not always the best 32 teams that qualify for the competition, look at Athletico Madrid for example, they are one of the best teams going just now but weren't in it, there are better teams than us that never got out of the group aswell. In saying all that, we deserved to be there

 

So basically no then haha as they have all the good teams but we have beaten everyone so id say yes. But I bet juventus win the champions league now because the teams we have been beaten off of before have win it.

I think we're better than any teams from Holland.

If you removed English, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian and French teams we'd be atleast one of the Top 5 remaining teams, maybe 2nd best to Porto.

 

I know obviously the likes of Man * and Chelski would probably do us over, but they didn't get through haha....

I think benfica are better to despite us qualifying ahead of them, as are ajax from what ive seen.

We can beat anyone at home, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're better than the opposition (Barcelona for example).

It is the fans and clever tactics that get us through most of our home games in Europe.

Tuesday night was an exception, but let's not go into all that again.

 

We got to the last 16 so that means were one of the best 16. End of thread.

 

Even though Benfica drew with us and beat us I didnt think they were that good. Think if we had Kayal, Ledley, Samaras and Hooper and Ambrose was ready then we'd have beat them at home, game just came too early. The away game we tried to sit in more and take a draw and lost but it was a tight game and even though we never played well and it was a must win game for them they didnt really trouble us. If we were to play Benfica in the Last 16 id be well confident we'd knock them out.

Ajax play good football and would trouble us but they are weak at the back. Obviously in the friendly they done us but in a game were we could actually tackle them I think we're pretty close, they are better at playing the ball on the deck but we are better defensively, stronger in defensive midfield and better in the air. Would be close games.
