If anyone's feeling confident, we are 130/1 on Betfair to qualify.

Juve will never in our lifetime give up a 3-0 lead.

If we had Robocop in the team so would I. :smiley-laughing002:

Think we'd see a shift in emphasis from the referee...

    No way back :54:

We go over there we would have to chase the game to have any chance & that just plays in to the hands of Juve

Could you imagine if after 90 mins it was Juve 0-3 Celtic, after 120 mins still 0-3 to us and it went to penalties. I would * * my pants for real and have a nervous breakdown at the same time.

Ya its over because Italian teams will do what Italian teams do roll around the ground like a bunch of * as if they have been shot and the ref won't have the balls to do anything about it because Platini wants to see his team go through.

anything happens on the night, but we would need some amount of luck.
but anything can happen, a decent referee and a red card, players have nothing to loose and all the pressures on Juventus again. theyve all got something to prove also

The Game Plan for the return leg with Juventus should be to field a team that can score goals and is also defensively sound. We have a real challenge on our hands but it is not an insurmountable challenge. Efe Ambrose should be no were near this game as he will be still mentally reeling and would be like a man down if he plays again in my opinion. Juventus are not that a good team, we ran them ragged at Parkhead, and they got extremely lucky from two defensive howlers by Ambrose.

The Game Plan in Italy should be to keep it tight at the back, and go looking for an early goal, so we must, I repeat must field an attacking offensive minded team. I would also have McGeouch and Watt ready to come on in the second half as the fresh pair of attacking legs. But no Forrest please, this is not the sort of daunting game for him.

Whether the Game Plan works on the night remains to be seen, but it is the Game Plan
    I would suggest to Lenny..

    I would play

    Forster

    Matthews Wilson Gershon Izzyguire

    Brown Kayal Ledley Samaras

    Hooper Stokes

We'd have to score in extra time. I fear we'd have little chance if it went to penalties, even with Fraser Forster in goal.

At best, I imagine it'd go something like: Commons, Brown, and Mulgrew scoring, with Hooper and Samaras missing/Buffon saving them; Vucinic, Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal scoring, with Matri missing/Forster saving. Total guess, but I think it'd come down to the fact that (while we both have a few penalty 'specialists' and both have a few strikers who are better at tap-ins on the bounce than set-piece penalty kicks, and both have excellent goalkeepers), they're just that bit better man-for-man.

So yeah, if we did end up in the v unlikely scenario where we'd managed to take it to extra time, I'd prefer us to score, because then we can concede one and still go through.

Is anyone actually going to care if we lose 3-0 or 7-1 on aggregate? Outside of bitter rangers fans, and spl fans ofcourse, who are just jealous that their teams havent even came close to this sort of success in decades.

They weren't exceptional by any stretch of the imagination, but they came to Glasgow with a counter-attacking gameplan and went home with three away goals. A very good day at the office whichever way you want to slice it up.

I wasn't talking about us, I was talking about Juventus. You're the guy who keeps asking who they are, as if they're a team of nobodies or something.

Capable of beating them? Yes. Capable of winning by the three clear goals we would need to win the tie? No chance.

Juventus will score in Turin, that is pretty much a certainty. I'd also wager that they play a much different game to the one they played in Glasgow.

lol if we get 3 or 4 goals without reply over in Turin it'll be our 2nd greatest result of all time and even at that some aspects about it would BETTER Lisbon :D

no chance of it happening but what we can do is put in a performance that honours the badge
